Needed a fix last night, so I popped in the 1994 Miami PPV show at Joe Robbie Stadium.
That live version of SV is one of the best I have ever heard and maybe their best song performance on that tour. Keith plays such a sweet, graceful melody with his nylon-stringed ax. Charlie provides a perfect beat (as always), using the brushes and I love Bobby Keys' sax solo, as well as Lisa, Bernard, Corey Glover and Whoopi(?) on backup vocals.
But Mick makes the song. He sings it perfectly. He takes his time, hits 99% of the notes and seems to really enjoy singing it.
I don't know why they didn't keep it for the rest or subesquent tours (NS). Its easy to play, a crowd pleaser and is perfect B-stage material.

I've never seen them do this live either--and it is one of my all-time faves. Let's hope for Tour2002-2003. |

My favorite part of that performance is when Mick hits a bum note on the harmonica intro and says, "Oh, no." |

Yeah Id love to hear SV on this tour as well!!
Speaking of the 94 Miami PPV and the B-stage, has anyone ever noticed Jagger's flubbing of the lyrics in Angie? He sings "Wet Me Whisper in Your Ear" and the cameraman quickly pans to Keith as He is laughing his ass off!! Its a cool moment! |

The SV that they performed in Sacramento 1/27/99 was interesting: Ronnie and Keith on electric guitars with Mick on acoustic. I assume they continued with this arrangement the remaining performances on the tour. |
