VoodooChileInWOnderl Today we received the Olympic torch, then I had an idea with this event: As the Olympics means world peace, all races and religions together as well as fair competition, lets follow the Olympic fire...

When it gets to your city post a picture (Yahoo news is giving a day to day follow up of it) until Fotini gets it

To be honest I had second thoughts before posting this message here as it may sound a little bit "cursi" (pretentious?) but what we need now is peace and love in the old (60s) fashion way.

MarthaMyDear I'LL DO THAT, GERARDO!!! What *** I *** am afraid of, though, is that the terrorists are planning to attack the Olympics and I hope not!!! I will definitely do this so keep us posted, ok.?!?!?! CHEERS, DEAR!!!

No, Fotini is a Rocks Off regular from Greece, I don't know if she's gonna receive the torch but if I can vote for it I'll do it

This is Fotini and her friends in San Siro, before a Rolling Stones Show the second picture was taken by her

LOL, no Glencar

To tell you the truth Gerardo, I'm a bit of a sceptical when it comes to the Olympics. Sure, the ideals of world peace and friendship are what the Olympiad should all be about, but enter sposhorships, Coca Cola and commissions and you get a picture of what it's really all about nowadays

Anyway, I don't want to nag, this is really a good thread! I'm not going to carry the torch ( thanks for the vote of support Voodoo ) but I'll keep you guys posted when it gets back here My friend (who's with me on that San Siro pic) hopes that they're gonna invite Bjork to sing on the opening ceremony, but I have my doubts on that

The ATHENS 2004 Olympic Torch Relay arrives in Los Angeles, California (USA) for the eleventh stop on its world journey to 34 cities, including Ancient Olympia where the Olympic flame was rekindled. Los Angeles, host of the 1932 & 1984 Summer Olympic Games, will welcome the Torch Relay to famous sites in the city including Hollywood Boulevard, Venice Beach and Dodger Stadium, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Olympic heroes and Hollywood movie stars
Among those who will carry it during its one-day stop are Janet Evans (swimming), who won four Olympics gold medals and one silver medal (Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996), legendary Mark Spitz (swimming) who tallies 9 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal (Mexico 1968, Munich 1972). Those sales figures , while respectable, are still amazingly low for their definitive greatest hits album which coincided with a massive tour and PR machine...I still will never understand why huge concert attendance has never carried over to their album sales....
