Stones 'bail out' Ronnie
(Friday July 06, 2007 11:09 AM)
The Rolling Stones lent Ronnie Wood £250,000 after he lost millions in a failed club investment in London, it has been claimed.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are said to have loaned their fellow Stone the sum to help dig him out of a serious financial hole.
The deal was struck on condition that the guitarist repaid his band mates from touring revenue, including their globe-straddling current "A Bigger Bang" jaunt.
Ronnie lost around £8million in the exclusive Harrington Club in South Kensington, West London, which he founded in 2000, according to The Sun.
The venue went bust after only three years in business, decimating Wood's investment and forcing him to remortgage his house.
"He had to borrow a serious chunk of cash from Mick and Keith to see him through", a 'source' told the newspaper.
The Rolling Stones play the O2 Arena in London on August 21+23+26. |
