Bruno Stone How`s their performance in Gimme Shelter from the Ed Sullivan show, in 69?

How is their performance in YCAGWYW from the David Frost show, in the same year? I mean, do they rock? Playback? Info, please.

Gazza Both are live vocals with the music being playback (well, the Sullivan shows were)

The definitive version of Gimme Shelter from that era is the one recorded at the BBC studios on 121269 (same session as the version of HTW that was on the Top of The Pops Xmas day show) and shown on the decade end special compilation "Pop Go The '60's" on New Years Eve that year.

Mick's vocal performance on that version is fucking incredible

sj The YCAGWYW clip is well worth tracking down. The Boys clothes looks awesome, eg: Keith Velvet pants! The Black Crowes have been envious ever since. And they're having a ball too. Keith looks 'very gaunt'.
