Each one of us will have to make a personal decision as to whether or not to join the fan club. To me, if you are unable to or chose not to pay exorbitant amounts from ticket brokers, the fan club appears to be a viable option allowing one the opportunity to acquire better than average seats at face value. Moreover, for those who hope to acquire club/theater tickets, it is beyond cavil that your chances are greatly enhanced through the fan club membership. Further, the opportunity to purchase Rolling Stones clothing/collectibles not available to the general public only sweetens this package. I am neither recommending or endorsing the fan club, but simply pointing out some of the benefits of it's membership.
The one, the only, the original Mr. Lawyer. |

They must. Saw them last year with the addition of Carey Bell on harp. Forget if Pinetop was there. My camera crapped out. Salvaged a few photos, I'll take a look see. |

The Red Sox are like an amusement park you have been to many times. You tire of the rides, so you do not go for a while. Then, later in the year, you decide you want the roller coaster again.
Sox have two fewer wins than last year at this time, so no fretting yet..
I guess I will take my chances with a pitching staff which includes:
Pedro
Schilling
Wakefield
Foulke
for the long haul....
They will not get a new stadium, Theo and the Trio will exploit Fenway for all the seats they can.
I'm going next week against Oakland, looking forward to it..

Absolutely fabulous!!! 90 minutes of American Music. You'd have never known Pinetop was hit by a train not too long ago. Unfortunately no photos. |

OK, long evening at the fest. JDG played it last year but he absolutely floored me this year. Dave was excellent but Jon Dee was the highlight of the night. The club was too full and I couldn't get in to see DBT. One more day... |

Last day/night of the American Music Fest in beautiful Berwyn, IL.
Heard blues coming from the tent as my bride and I approached Fitzgerald's. I knew I had missed Dave Specter and Lurrie Bell so it had to be none other than Tito Jackson. After paying the cover charge we enter the tent and sure enough Tito rips into the greatest blues song ever, yes, you guessed it, "Mustang Sally." It was all-downhill from there. Tito donned an afro wig and proceeded to play the most famous Jackson 5 tune. I think I'm the only person on earth that doesn't know the title. Oh well. After that the band played some generic funk.
The club wasn't really crowded so we decided to grab a table instead of investigating the unknown band in the club. Had to sit through a very generic set of alt country pop by Reckless Kelly. Competent but boring.
Next up were the Waco Brothers. Where else are you going to get a group led by a Welshman playing pub rock with a steel guitar at an American Music Fest? Jonboy was in fine form. See below:
The small crowd was treated to bad jokes, mocking of the Commander in Chief and Jaggeresque dance moves.
Can't complain since we had not seen them since right after Christmas.
I decided to head into the club since there was no line to see Dave on his second night at the fest. I got in just as Dave hit the stage, missing the first II or so warm up songs. Dave was on fire. Sticking to a set list similar to the previous night but also busting out the Martin acoustic, which he did not do on Saturday. I spied Deano, Durante and Jon checking Dave out in the crowd and backstage.
Talked to Jon Deano and Joey C a little after but had to head out. It's been a long four days. I'll get to the rest of the photos later.
Still say Jon Dee Graham was the highlight of the fest with Pinetop Perkins coming in a close second. Can't put my finger on what it was about JDG but damn he moved me.
Peace music lovers...
