sammy davis jr. Yeah Marino was a winner.....except when it counted. I remember he threw what? 6 interceptions in one of his last playoff games- it was a treat to watch.

fortunetly it's a team game (and no it wasn't 6 picks and anyone who watched that game knows that both sides of the ball sucked for miami or didn't you watch but hey how about a 4th and 17 from the 2 yard line for the win in seattle the week before? na you missed that huh? i thought so)... and one's 17 year career is not judged by one game which btw was horrible to watch for even the real fans... and proved jimmie johnson was a benefactor of the pre-cap era and minny's bad trade (see dallas era)... so haters like you are asked to leave this thread immediately... unless of course you hate the jets just as much, but based on your joke of a response one could surmise your a jets fan... for that i have pity for you.

jb Starts don't lie and Marion is about #1 or 2 in everyone that counts..the Jacksonville game was a disater and obviously Dan did not want to go out that way..but sometimes you can;t chose a happy ending. Brett Farve has had many 4-5 interception games, and despite having a great team for over 10 years, only one 1 Super-Bowl. No real fan of the game would ever question Marion in the Clutch. As pointed out, he has more 4th quarter comebacks then anyone but Elway, and by and large, led the Dolphins to an averge of 10 wins a year, mostly with a horrendous defense and no running game. Watch some vintage Marion footage and you'll understand how he brought the passing game to levels never seen before, and did so when the rules were much more lenient on defenders. I know plenty of great athletes who never won and ring and some really bad ones who have many...it's a matter of timing, team skill, and yes, luck. All I know was that for the majority of his career here, no matter what the score, we as fans alwasy knew we had a chance with Marion. Sadly, ass wioe Johnson and Wanstadt did not surround him with any talent his last 5 year and despite that, he pulled off some great wins....The Seattle game is a great example.....Bottom line, the guy is worth some 50 million dollars, is worshipped here, has a great gig t HBO, and any real player/fan knows he was the best...even MOntanna in a recent interview with Chris Myers sais the "ring" thing was overplayed as it takes a lot of factors to win the Super-bowl, and pointed towards Miami's weak defense in Marino's prime....Anyway, all Miami/Marino bashers it doesn't matter...we alwasy will have 17-0 and are still the winningest franchise since the 1970 merger....We also had the winningest coach in NFK history ..the Dolphins have alwasy been involved in some of the greatest mosr exciting games in NFL history....from the perfect season, the longset game against the Chief, the Classic play-off loss to San Diego, the fake spike against the Jets, the snow-plow games against the Pats, the Leon Lett Dallas game, the Monday night game with a young Earl Campbell, etc...Dolphins=NFL at it's best.
