Sir Stonesalot: What do you mean when you say that you have a bad feeling about this concert. Are you saying you think it will be another Altamont? All I was trying to say is that I want to see the Stones and I don't care what I have to go through to be there. This REALLY means a lot to me. I am grateful for your concern for all of us. Don't worry TD -- we're gonna have a blast.
Yeah it's gonna be big and crowded and hot and sometimes ugly -- Stoney is right, you cannot put that many people together in one place, fucked up, in the sun, with lack of food, water and good hole to piss in, with all that different music and not have some ugly. Just be prepared for it! Like he said -- be smart and be safe -- damn good advice.

That is about the lamest line-up I've ever seen....it's no wonder why the Stones are not considered "cool" anymore. The fact they would appear with Justin T. is as embarrassing as Aerosmith performing with Briteny and En Sync. Maybe Justin can do a duet with Mick during "Miss You" unless Keith cracks his skull open with his guitar(hopefully). My prediction is less than 300K will attend...Luckily AC/DC (who I never happened to like until this tour ) will attract a large legion of fans... |

Free Toronto Stones Show a Go for July 30

TORONTO - A massive free Rolling Stones concert has been scheduled for July 30 in Toronto.

The outdoor show is aimed at giving the city an economic boost in the wake of the SARS (news - web sites) (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak earlier in the year. Although the official announcement is expected Tuesday, a taped video message from the band due to be played during a press conference was shown to several local media outlets over the weekend.
"We're happy to tell you that we're coming to play on July 30 in a great concert for the people in the city of Toronto, to help bring back the energy to our favorite city," Stones frontman Mick Jagger says in the message taped at the site of the Stones' recent show in Munich.
The event will take place in the docklands area of the city, with the downtown skyline as a backdrop. It is estimated that 10 to 15 supporting acts will be announced.
The Stones show will be the second music event meant to repair the reputation of the Canadian city, which is reeling from the impact and stigma of SARS.
