Stray Cat UK I've just realised that it's a QUATER OF A CENTURY since my 1st Stones gig !

Wembley Stadium 26-6-82.

What an amazing day. You never forget the 1st time.

Don't think I watched anyone exept Keith. It was an unbeleivable crush down the front.

The guitars were incredably LOUD. NO WAVING WHATSOEVER!

I feel old...........

If you really want to live a life of passion
If you really want to dance your life away
There's a place I really got to show you
It's down the alley, really hid away
(treat me) Soul city, soul city
Peace for the wicked
Life for the living in soul city

Not one of Mick's finest moments. This was one was, though:

You used to be my party doll
But now you say the party's over
You used to love to honky tonk
But now the honky tonking's over
Now life is a bitter thing, my sweet
Now life is a mystery to me
Love's pain, I ain't buying
Love's strange. I keep trying, trying, trying
You used to be my party doll
But now you want to live in clover
You used to be my number one
But now those salad days are over
Times change but the fascination stays
Love wins but the passion just fades
I'll drink to the dancing days
I'll drink to your crazy ways
Through the whiskey haze
Face the music, face the truth
Chase that fleet sweet bird of youth
Grow up sweetly, grow up strong
Hear the heartbeat, in my song
Love's pain, I ain't buying
Love's strange. I keep trying, trying, trying
You used to be my party doll
But now you say the party's over
You used to love to honky tonk
But now those dancing days are over
You used to be my number one
But now you vanished in the ozone

Mel Belli I'm pretty sure I liked this song. Then I saw this:

Soldatti Say You Will was pretty huge in some countries, it was one of the big hits of early 1988 here.

glencar Best song off that CD! It should have been a USA hit but Lou Gramm/Foreigner had a hit at the same time with the same name. That song was, natch, crappy.

Mel,

I have never seen that video before. There was nothing extra cheesy about it, why did it turn you against the song?

The Old West sequences, Mick getting shot by the firing squad -- maybe not extra cheesy, but certainly cheesy. And, generally, Mick's '80s fashion sense is cringe-making.

gimmekeef Remember the Undercover video?...Mick starring as Charlie Chan...and the troop carrier goes past the Holiday Inn..with Keith hanging out the side?...lmaoooooo
