Then don't play the fucking song if the first part of a tour is a rehearsal so that he can concentrate on the words. Thats like drinking all night and vomiting in the shower/bathroom floor/sink/soaking tub one night, then the next night getting about 25% of it in the toilet and the rest on the walls/floor/sink/etc and saying that "I'm getting better".

pug....I am now quite queasy.

Time for a cuppa "tea".

Thank you.

Pauly reckons that the 'sneaky little fills' on 'Brown Sugar' suggest some practicing has been done.

Spain didnt get any shows last year, so its a setlist closer to 2006 than 2007 in many ways.

Very good show overall, it seems with the whole band on form - although maybe not reaching the heights of Lyon.

luxury1 Can anyone quote me the entire first verse of Tumblin' Dice? It gets awfully embarrassing when I have to muff the words in front of Mick...(I have been trying to lip read for years now, with no luck...)

I love it too, glencar. And by the way, I was always under the impression that it was a Mick tune.

Where are the photos??

Martha I consider TD to be the quintessential Rolling Stones song.

I personally never tire of it.

glencar Women think I’m tasty, but they’re always tryin’ to waste me
And make me burn the candle right down,
But baby, baby, I don’t need no jewels in my crown.

’cause all you women is low down gamblers,
Cheatin’ like I don’t know how,
But baby, baby, there’s fever in the funk house now.
This low down bitchin’ got my poor feet a itchin’,
You know you know the duece is still wild.

Baby, I can’t stay, you got to roll me
And call me the tumblin’ dice.

Always in a hurry, I never stop to worry,
Don’t you see the time flashin’ by.
Honey, got no money,
I’m all sixes and sevens and nines.
Say now, baby, I’m the rank outsider,
You can be my partner in crime.

But baby, I can’t stay,
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin’,
Roll me and call me the tumblin’ dice.

Oh, my, my, my, I’m the lone crap shooter,
Playin’ the field ev’ry night.

Baby, can’t stay,
You got to roll me and call me the tumblin’ dice, (call me the tumblin’)
Got to roll me, got to roll me, got to roll me (oh yeah)
Got to roll me. got to roll me, got to roll me ( keep on rolling, keep on rolling)

sssoul >> I was always under the impression that it was a Mick tune. <<

Tumbling Dice? nah. a bona fide collaboration.

and Keith was improvising lyrics to Wanna Hold You in 97 too -
as with most improvisations, sometimes it comes out great, sometimes it doesn't.
i finally heard part of the Paris version - LoFL! what a riot
swing on, Keith! and all you Stones

Gazza I hope you didnt infringe the copyright on another Stones site by copying and pasting those lyrics

Show's over. Smoking version of 'Satisfaction' to finish. Keith doing more running on the last song as well. Crowd going nuts at the end, chanting "ole Ole Ole". Good show, didnt quite scale the heights of Lyon, though, says Pauly (but then what does..?)
21st June 2007 06:25 PM
glencar LOL That site is down. I got them from a corporate site that has rational owners.
