Stones get set for festival date
The Stones caused a 30-mile traffic jam in Belgium at the tour's start
The Rolling Stones are getting ready to play their first British festival date in more than 30 years.
The band are due on stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, after taking their 200-strong tour entourage to the site by privately-chartered ferry.
It is their first appearance at a festival since 1976's Knebworth Fair.
More than 60,000 fans have been entertained by acts including Muse, Snow Patrol, Groove Armada and Kasabian as the three-day event draws to an end.
Guitarist Keith Richards said he was looking forward to playing to a UK crowd during the band's European tour.
'Special' visit
"Coming back home is always a bit more special," he told Virgin Radio.
"We just carry Britain with us, really, our own little bubble of it.
Keith Richards was accompanied by a 200-strong entourage
"I really love to play on stage, it's a miracle and every couple of days I get to go out there and I enjoy a lot of things with a lot of people. And now, especially now, it's a real pleasure."
The Stones caused a 30-mile traffic jam of fans queuing to see them in the Belgian town of Werchter earlier this week, at the beginning of the latest European leg of their tour.
After dates in France, Germany, Spain, Serbia and Russia, the band will return to the UK to play three shows at London's O2 arena - the former Millennium Dome - in August.

Doubt you're far off the mark. A unique audience for a Stones show in the UK in that its not even a Stones audience (the festival was sold out before they were added to the bill). Expect a warhorse-heavy set for what will mostly be a younger crowd of Stones 'virgins' - and expect the Stones to blow them away.
