As I'm flying to the US (and New York City) next week, I need some recommendations about good, not over-prized guitar and record stores from the NY members of this board.
Also, if anyone knows where to go to listen to some great music in the evenings (for people under 18), please tell me!
Thanks,
Staffan

Staffen, perhaps you should of typed under 21. Everythings 21 and above in the US i think. Its a bloody shame, because i was hoping to spend my whole stay in September drunk!! Im hoping some of these kind folk on the board will buy me a bottle of Jack Daniels to take to Giants with me!!

There is a store in the village, I beleive 1 block over from bleeker street. Not sure of the name of it but has a red sign out front that says records. Great bootlegs there. I havent been to the city in three years but this place should still be there. Good luck. |

You gotta go to Manny's:

I just bought a guitar from 48th Street Custom Guitars, which is a few doors down from Mannys. Several other guitar shops on the block - 48th Street between 7th and 6th Ave. Spend a little time looking around - some of these guys in the guitar shops can be real jerks. The guys at Custom Guitars were cool. |

I read that Manny's was sold to Sam Ash's but continued in some strange way. I think I'll buy a Bigsby tremolo to my SG (It will look just like Taylors SG!!!) and an EBow.
I need more suggestions on record stores (and thrift stores for 60's clothing as well)...
Thanks,
