01. Brown Sugar

I didn't feel like spending all day in the sun so I got there late. I was hoping to get EODM but I got there right before they went on and it would have taken some effort to get to my usual spot so I just let it go and listened from afar. Next up was the Suicide Girls burlesque show and I worked my way up to my spot for the New York Dolls. Anyway the Suicide Girls ended their set by bringing out EODM for one more song and this time I was ready, so here it is. I could have swore I saw the main set without Brown Sugar here once upon a time. If anyone has it please repost or contact me for a trade. Thanks!

Flight505 Just uploaded Altamont. Thanks again for hosting this fantastic torrent tracker!!!

The Rolling Stones
Altamont 1969
Complete concert in FLAC

Original notes:
Here it is, a nice addition to the previously posted Altamont festival thread. This is the performance the Stones gave, from a (liberated) bootleg on Vinyl Gang Productions (VGP-113). Good audience, nothing more nothing less, not excellent by any means. But historic and IMHO opinion despite the problems surrounding them, the Stones rock big time! First public performance of "Brown Sugar" and an oddity in the form of The Jimmy Reed song "The Sun is Shining" I added some SBD songs from the show, "Gimme Shelter" (with complete intro), sympathy for the devil (the 2nd part, from the movie Gimme Shelter), Under My Thumb (the 2nd part, from the movie Gimme Shelter) and the sun is shining (doubtful if this is SBD!!) These songs are not to be found on the Killer Festival, they were added by me! Artwork included....

Tracklisting:
Disc 1
01. Jumping jack flash
02. Carol
03. Sympathy for the devil #1
04. Sympathy for the devil #2
05. The sun is shining
06. Stray cat blues
07. Love in vain
08. Under my thumb #1
09. Under my thumb #2

Disc 2
01. Brown sugar
02. Midnight rambler
03. Live with me
04. Gimme shelter
05. Little queenie
06. (I can't get no) Satisfaction
07. Honky tonk women
08. Street fighting man

Soundboard Bonustracks:
09. Sympathy For The Devil
10. The Sun Is Shining
11. Under My Thumb
12. Gimme Shelter

-Flight505
(I believe the 'soundboard' tracks are just the audience recordings remixed, though I could be wrong. The Sun Is Shining, IMHO, is Keith's way of trying to calm down the audience. Very interesting.)

Not quite the stellar digital quality you may be used to but a nice find and I was under the impression this is an uncirculated show though I haven't paid much attention really. Guitars still sound nice. There is some static during SFTD and PIB. I checked, I got a clean rip so not sure if it happened when my copy was made or if it was like that on the master.

Edited to add - if anyone knows anyone who plans on taping at Isle Of Wight, have them contact me, I need a favor. More uncirculated shows in the archive are dependant on a positive outcome.

I bought the cheapest ticket in the far back where I recorded Buddy Guy and Red Hot Chili Peppers but moved directly sidestage Keith's side for the Stones. During the first part for the show a few rows behind me some chick's head was in this dude's lap under a coat bobbing up and down furiously. This was in the days before the instant internet setlist so Memory Motel was a totally unexpected surprise, as were several songs in the set for the first show on the 19th.

I went with my mom on the 19th and solo on the 21st. I had bought the tour souvenier DVD at the MGM Grand when I was in Vegas for Aerosmith a few days before the Stones but I watched it without sound because I wanted to be surprised on the setlist.

Fireworks at the end sound very odd. I was too close so they are so brickwalled they don't even sound like fireworks.

The ECM737 is a huge dildo of a microphone, can't believe all the gigs I did with that over the course of a year.

Met a real good friend at this show who was also archiving. Probably the coolest, most eclectic and most active one who ever lived. He's definitely enriched and enhanced my collection more than anyone know.

This might slow down a bit if anyone hops on some torrents I just downloaded but you should have it by morning. If you are interested in the other acts they will likely end up on Dime eventually.

I remember briefly looking into hitting this gig
til I heard it was $50. This is when I had almost no
income and $30 was still considered to be on the high
end for concerts, but this is a small room that holds
about 200 or less. I would see friends bands here.
Luckily I got a master sourced CDR from a friend. It was
totally unedited but I started on that Thursday. If the
setlist is on Taylor Made Works then a recording
probably already is circulating though I doubt
it's this one as the taper of this doesn't trade.
Enjoy.
