chrisloc I got a song called "help me to spend some gold" on a bootleg.
It was played at Altamont in 1969
Is it a cover ? Who is the writer ?
I can't figure out all the lyrics, can you help me ?

Come on, baby, help me to spend this gold/dough
Come on, baby, help me to spend this gold/dough
Well I'll go (?) dressed up, I got no place to go

Well the sun is shining on both sides of street
The sun is shining on both sides of street
I got a smile on my face for every little girl I meet

I got a brand new suit, a new pair of shoes
I'm gonna lose some (? ?)
.. .. .. .. .. spend my gold/dough
well all (?) dressed up, I got no place to go

VoodooChileInWOnderl The original version is by Lightnin' Slim and the name was "Help me Spend My Gold" later by Jimmy Reed as "The Sun is Shining", and is not related with Elmore James'"The Sun is Shining"

This song, as played at Altamont, is available to download at MononoM website http://www.xs4all.nl/~mononom/

Well, The sun is shining on both sides of the street

Oh, The sun is shining on both sides of the street

I have a smile om my face for every little girl I meet.

Well, My pocket's filled up to the fine red door

Yeah, My pocket's filled up to the tall red door

Well, I'm all dressed up -

Ain't got no place to go.

(solo)

(break)

I got a brand new suit

New pair of shoes

You can't loose with the stuff I use.

Baby , Help me to spend this doh

Well, I'm all dressed up -

And I got no place to go.

The sun is shining on both sides of the street
