Topic: Hartford, not MCI on 10/5 Return to archive
06-17-02 02:31 PM
nankerphelge According to RS.com -- Hartford has wrestled the date away from the lukewarm DC market.

Shame shame shame
06-17-02 02:57 PM
mattb I'll dump some tea in Boston Harbor for ya.
06-17-02 03:22 PM
sandrew What a bummer.
06-17-02 03:23 PM
jb Ticket sales are what counts-Washington sucks...only 30,000 tickets sold..harford is 15,000 plus at 350.00!!!
06-17-02 03:31 PM
Stonesdoug It's not Washington that sucks, it Fed Ex Field. Everyone hates it. Clearchannel whored out for the 85,000 seat stadium and got burned (as did all of us)
06-17-02 03:38 PM
jb No...they probably only put on sale 60,000 tickets and only
a little more than 1/2 sold...I agree, however, it should have been 2 MCI shows whish would have sold out and looked much better than an empty stadium...I still have a feeling this show will be cancelled , although they played in Orlando to 30,000 in a 60,000 capacity stadium...
06-17-02 03:53 PM
nankerphelge They won't cancel the show. But I bet it won't be one of their more enthusiastic outtings!
06-17-02 06:57 PM
Happy Motherfucker!! By the time Oct gets here, the show will be sold out. Even if it's not, why would anyone think that it wouldn't be enthusiastic for the band? I hardly don't think they sit back stage and say to each other " Let's just piss this one a way since it's only 50,000 people instead of 70,000". I think anyone that believes that is highly underestimating The Stones. I'm sure they would give it their best whether they where playing in front of 50,000 or 50
06-18-02 06:55 AM
TomL Two MCI shows would have worked out better. Glad that I really did not plan on two shows here. Sad what money will do.
06-18-02 08:02 AM
stonesvids Well since they are now ont playing the second nite in D.C.
the stadium may sell quite a few more tickets Im sure some most people were holding out waiting for the MCI show..
06-18-02 11:50 AM
Stonesdoug for those of you making the DC to Hartford trip, Southwest Airlines has a speical going until June 20--$31.00 each way
06-18-02 02:46 PM
nankerphelge May can't afford not to at that price!
That's good chiba value right there!
06-18-02 04:03 PM
jb Nanker , taking small chartered flights is risky as no screening for homicide bombers...please be careful!
06-18-02 04:07 PM
luxury1 Hey--don't discourage him (or curse him). We have plans.
