"A slimmer Artie Lange returned this morning after missing nearly a week of work with little to no explanation. Everyone was happy to have him back and we were all curious as to why he left in the first place. Artie said, first and foremost, that his absence had nothing to do with drugs. He was not on a coke binge or anything like that. Artie said it was a mixture of stress, depression and yes, drinking. He said he was just really messed up. Robin wanted a more in-depth explanation though so Artie explained that he had been running himself ragged trying to get in as many stand up dates as he could before his movie started shooting and then the heavy drinking he does during the weekend started to spill into the work week and really mess him up. He said he spent most of his time at home not doing anything at all, not even eating! Artie explained that he's now at the skinniest he's ever been. Artie said he also didn't have sex all last week during his depression despite the fact that Dana was there with him every day. Howard said that that proves Artie was really depressed because if he was having sex Howard would have figured he was making all this up. "
