That was Sonny Barger - no flamer! A bad-ass mo-fo that would slit yer throat as much as look at you. He was top dog at that concert - the Oakland chapter leader.

...a very scary man then, though he has mellowed out a lot these days. Age does that to a man...

Well I Googled Sonny which led me to this page:

http://www.sonnybarger.com/index3.html (click on photos link)

The pictures of Sonny in a Gold's Gym muscle shirt and Indian headdress (see Village People) makes me think I'm on to something. Or maybe just on something...

Last night, I said goodbye
Now--it seems year
I'm back in the city
Where nothing is clear
But thoughts of me --holding you
Bringing us near

And tell me
When will our eyes meet
When can I touch you
When will this strong yearning end
And when Will I hold you again

Time in New England
Took me away
To long rocky beaches
--and you, by the bay
We started a story
Whose end must now wait

And, tell me
When will our eyes meet

When can I touch you
When will this strong yearning end
And when Will I hold you again

I feel the change comin'
--I feel the wind blow
I feel brave and daring!
I feel my blood flow
With you
I can bring out
All the love, that I have
--With you there's a heaven
So earth ain't so bad

And tell me
When will our eyes meet
When can I touch you
When will this strong yearning end
And when Will I hold you again

Joey " There are some sweet extras on the GS DVD."
{TAP-TAP..TESTING...TESTING}

" When you walk through a storm
Keep your head held high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone "

" I had a dream, a dream about you, baby.
It's gonna come true, baby.
They think that we're through, but baby,

You'll be swell! You'll be great!
Gonna have the whole world on the plate!
Starting here, starting now,
honey, everything's coming up roses!

Clear the decks! Clear the tracks!
You've got nothing to do but relax.
Blow a kiss. Take a bow.
Honey, everything's coming up roses!

Now's your inning. Stand the world on it's ear!
Set it spinning! That'll be just the beginning!
Curtain up! Light the lights!
You got nothing to hit but the heights!
You'll be swell. You'll be great.
I can tell. Just you wait.
That lucky star I talk about is due!
Honey, everything's coming up roses for me and for you!

You can do it, all you need is a hand.
We can do it, Mama is gonna see to it!
Curtain up! Light the lights!
We got nothing to hit but the heights!

I can tell, wait and see.
There's the bell! Follow me!
And nothing's gonna stop us 'til we're through!

Honey, everything's coming up roses and daffodils!
Everything's coming up sunshine and Santa Claus!
Everything's gonna be bright lights and lollipops!
Everything's coming up roses for me and for you!"

GotToRollMe Oh yeah, and the part when the Stones arrive by helicopter and that guy sucker-punches Mick, saying something like, "My chick digs you!"

Between that and what went down during the performance, I think Altamont made Mick realize how vulnerable he was, especially considering the fact that he's the singer and thus the focal point.

they weren't asked to
plus i think the Stones never really fell into the typical 'hippie' mold that those folks looked for.

Altamont The guy staring at Mick from the side of the stage is not Sonny Barger. His name is Bob Roberts, the former president of the San Francisco Hells Angels. He was interviewd on VH1 about 3 years ago about Altamont. i got the video of it.

Sonny was definetly at Altamont too though.
16th June 2006 07:42 PM
geecee That short haired Angel who glares at Jagger is not sonny Barger.Barger is the lead Angel in the ones who ride through the crowd(you see sonny swigging from a demijohn of wine)and has noticably longer hair.On a more technical level the Angel on stage is wearing the small death head whereas Sonny and Oakland were wearing the ''Barger larger'' Death head patch.

Agree. I didn't think that was Sonny

1. Where is the naked fat lady?
2. Where is the German Shepard that was walking on stage?
3. Muscle Shoals was sold on EBay for $600k
4. What happened to the Hells Angel walking around with the wolf's head on?
