From now I will recive every week by mail the Soundscan report for the Billboard 200 albums. Thanks to my friends in EMI, what send me this information.
This are the reports for the last 3 weeks (including the last, until now) of the Billboard 200 and this are the numbers for 'Forty Licks' in the States:
Issue Date - Week - Position - (total copies sold/RIAA sales)
07/06/2003 - Week 34 - No. 139 (7,000/14,000 copies) *
14/06/2003 - Week 35 - No. 163 (6,000/12,000 copies) *
21/06/2003 - Week 36 - No. 161 (6,000/12,000 copies) *
* note: the sales for double albums with more than 100 minutes are double acording to RIAA. For example: 7,000 copies sold = 14,000 copies sold for RIAA
The new numbers will be post here the Tomorrow or Friday.
If somebody want to see the certifications for albums/singles/videos of the Stones or they as solos, search this page:
http://www.riaa.com/gp/database/default.asp
Only put 'rolling stones' and see the results |

that's not bad for a double album, I think that Virgin is very happy with this album, and as long as it's a bit high in the charts, I think they'll wait with bringing out a new cos it won't sell as good as 40 L |

One mistake:
I wrote:
Week 34 - No. 139 (7.000/14.000 copies)
the correct is:
Week 34 - No. 159 (7.000/14.000 copies)
The No. 139 is for the week 33 (31/05/2003)

i think the have a new one
in 1992 it was 4 albums i think,
so their must be a new one,
and besides that, the stones don't need to beg for a contract, |
