Lord (Hetero) A while back I was asking around for tips on some newer bands I could delve into. I can not remember who named who but I was given a bunch of great names. I'm not rich so I got to move slower than I would like to. I have since turned on to the Novaks!! Killer album! Pity is I have only downloaded it; don't actually "own" it. I much prefer actually having the CD release w/cover etc. But that is a great fuckin record.
And the other one is the Deadstring Bros album. Really good stuff. So I appreciate the name droppers.
Others I still am going to investigater are Leroy Justice, Detroit Cobras, Beasts of Bourbon, Izzys, probably Mad Juana. Oh and Jesse Malin. I never put him and D Generation together.
On a different plane I also listened to "Relayer" by Yes.LOL I got nothing against Yes in their heyday. Squire and Howe could play.

Saint Sway The Novaks tune "You Dont Have To Hang Around" is a spot on cousin of The Black Crowes "Title Song"

its got that same great heavy 70s drug den hazy vibe that the Crowes "Title Song" and "Feathers" have

those songs would make a great soundtrack to a dark 70s drug dealer flick

Sir Stonesalot In a different vein...check out The Len Price 3 "Chinese Burn" & "Rentacrowd". Not as Stonesy as The Novaks & The Deadstring Brothers...more like early Who-ish. Great great stuff.
