I went to the Legends Of Motor City show at Hammerstein Ballroom Saturday night. The company I work for handled the PR for the show. Before she sang Dancing In The Street, Martha thanked the Rolling Sones, Bowie, the Who, The Grateful Dead, Van Halen, and many others for keeping the popularity of the song alive.
Richard Street's Temptations and The Spinners were on the bill as well. The Tempts played Just My Imagination and Ain't To Proud To Beg, along with tons of their other hits.
I should have went to the after-party. Richard Street showed up, as well as Martha and The Vandellas and some members of The Spinners. Stupid me! |

It is only now, at a very advanced age, that i am finding the old Motown stuff utterly fantastic.
