Topic: New respect for Kid Rock Return to archive

crb69 After last night's show at the PNC Arts Center I now have a new respect for the multi-talented Kid Rock. I often wondered how a somewhat new musician could earn the opportunities to share the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, sTEVEN tYLER, Hank Williams Jr., Jerry Lee Lewis and none other than our own Keef Richards. I saw Kid perform years ago at Tradewinds, NJ opening for Monster Magnets Powertrip tour. He was good but just emerging into the mainstream. Well after last night I felt I had just witnessed history. Kid Rock & his band couldn't have been tighter and he worked the crowd like I've never seen. My buddy & I sat in the 11th row and we said afterwards that he gave Mick & the Stones a good run for the money. Especially at $50 a ticket! He even ripped out a version of Led Zep's Rock & Roll...I TRUELY didn't think he had it in him.

If any of you get the opportunity to see him take it without hesitation. The man has truley matured to be one of the best performers of today!

I am sure it was a good show. But history?.....
A kid Rock show is hardy historic.

MikeyC613 Kid Rock might be able to rock other people's songs pretty well but 50 bucks a pop to see a good cover band is a joke. He makes a living joining legendary musicians on stage at award shows and televised concerts, and "Picture" is one of the worst songs to ever plague the FM waves. If he writes an album full of real respectable, and original rock and roll I will see him in concert. But I have never trusted a man who once used a rapping midget on stage as a gimmick to sell tickets.

Prodigal Son Anytime Kid Rock has something good going in his music he ruins it anyway with those pseudo-metal screams that make me wanna puke. Not even Robert Plant made noises that irritating with his vocals. He's slowly getting better I agree, but it'll take a while to erase the years of rock-rap crap and midgets onstage while hacking other people's work.

crb69 History as in the future of rock n' roll. If rap has to be in the equation then I would rather hear it done with guitars like the other night.

I give props to someone who's full of themselves and then proves why they have the "attitude". The man knows his music...well. Unfortunately the direction Kid Rock has taken hasn't went over too good with his fans. I never thought I would be at a rap concert but I had to see somebody this summer besides VH.
