LOL. Now if you had a "Melvis" come down the pike he would have all the gears, all at once.

Taptrick

I miss Dread Zeppelin.

Gazza Sinatra? No..not forgotten at all. Fantastic singer and one of my personal favourites.

I think Elvis had a better range of singing styles, though.

Keith owned several, as did John Lennon. Bob Dylan put it this way "Hearing him (Elvis) for the first time was like busting out of jail."

11th June 2004 08:45 PM
Gazza Not to mention Bruce springsteen (who climbed over the walls of his home to try and meet him) and Led Zeppelin (who actually offered to act as his backing band in the mid 70's..)

Vince Everett - Jailhouse Rock. A GREAT movie. Now SIA, did it strike you as strange costuming when Vince was wearing a heavy turtle neck sweater during "Baby I Don't Care"? All his guests were wearing swimming suits.

in a word MICK
12th June 2004 01:54 PM
DG81 Simply impossible for me to decide between the two. Well all right, Elvis, no Mick. Sod it - Dylan.
12th June 2004 02:08 PM
parmeda Undoubtedly, Elvis is the King.

And for what it's worth...and for as much as I adore Mick...having the pleasure to see Elvis only once, and having seen Mick a gazzillion times...nobody, and I mean NOBODY, puts an audience in a crazed frenzy as Elvis did.

I have yet to attend any concert, or event, that was not audible for the first 10-15 minutes due to non-stop hysterical screaming.

12th June 2004 02:32 PM
Monkey Woman Keith is a long-time fan of Elvis's guitarist Scott Moore. And Mick used to mimick Elvis in front of the mirror, when he was a teenager!
12th June 2004 04:35 PM
cwatts0462 mick will never let himself become an overweight
parody of himself, lets face it towards the end
elvis looked silly up there making a fool of himself
and he was only 42, mick is 60 and still commands the stage
far better than elvis did in his 40s
