I like Jim Jarmusch. Dead Flowers, however, is one major beautiful piece of work. Please see it.

Sincerily (when have I been dishonest?),
Bill Murray.

pdog Repo Man!
4th June 2007 09:42 AM
MrPleasant Repo Man: I kinda remember that one. From the eighties, I think.

The "tell me what your soundtrack is" proposal was aimed at the performers/singers, etc, not at the listeners. This is an intellectual thread!: I was trying to put into words how much an "artist" resembles the movies that he/she chooses to write music for. Like The Dixie Chicks: can anyone imagine their songs in anything but in a film where George W. Bush is butt-raped by an angry mob?
You mean to tell me that there hasn't yet been a snuff movie in which George W. Bush is butt-raped by an angry mob? What are you waiting for??

Chuck, is it the "Southern Comfort" that takes place in the Cajun swamps? With Carradine and Boothe? Killer film.
5th June 2007 01:39 PM
Sir Stonesalot Dig!

I don't think that there's a soundtrack album for it, but if there was, it would be great. Especially if they leave all the fighting and stuff in.

Yep. Ry Cooder did the soundtrack. I agree that it's a great movie.

I know what you were getting at... Repo Man is a pretty corny movie, yet it has some profound statements in the dialogue. Iggy's song on the soundtrack was secifically written for the movie... The Circle Jerks do a version of one of their songs, in a cameo, acoustically... Maybe you should just search it out and watch it... I'm not an intellectual type, per se...
I don't own many soundtracks. I got this, Clerks and the sdtrk to Vampyros Lesbos... Which has a cover of Satisfaction on it...
5th June 2007 09:38 PM
Sir Stonesalot I loved Repo Man...both the soundtrack & the flick.

My thrash band Blastula opened for The Circle Jerks shortly after they did the movie. I had an interesting conversation with them about being on a working movie set. "Play the song, sit around for 3 hours, play the song again, sit around for 3 hours, eat some free food, play the song again, sit around for 3 hours, eat more free food, hit on the make up girls, play the song, go home...then do it all over again the next day."

The day after we opened for the CJs, I played golf with them at a local public course. They tossed us off the course before we got done with the front 9. One of the highlights of my young rock n roll career.
5th June 2007 09:47 PM
pdog I never would've guessed you the golfing type, especially way back in the day...

I prefer to think of it more as a gorgonzola.

Made with breast milk.

100% American, that's for sure.

Mr. Pleasant - that clip from World's Greatest Sinner is insane.
