Keith and Taylor have so many great studio guitar gems but
my favorite is All Down The Line with Keith's driving open
G rhythm and Taylor's blistering slide throughout, what a
great dynamite guitar duo. |

One of the greatest Stones songs ever written. Too bad it crashes and burns when they play it live at these days. A true highlight of the 70s shows. Ronnie played it well enough 75-94, but his slide and the back up singers left a lot to be desired in 02. Roseland may have been the best rendition of the 02 shows, IMHO.
This should give JB 50 posts. Who should play ADTL in 05? |

I agree,When they tried to play Silver Train in rehersals
during 72/73 it sounded to much like All Down The Line.
Keith's driving rhythm is so seductive |

I listened to Exile last night!
Front to back!
With a head fulla Newcastles, Heinekens and wallpaper!
And All Down the Line still to this day makes me turn it up just a lil' louder!
The version from that Happy Birthday Nicky boot is pure hell unleashed!!

What a great track. And I love my little 45 where as the B-side they issued a slightly different mix. I can't really remember right now, but it's a real "hot" cut, the needle practically won't stay in the grooves. Different mix for sure, if not a slightly different track. |
