Chuck "WE BELIEVE that now is the time to join together in a historic pact to help the world overcome the ever-growing media presence of Bono. WE RECOGNIZE that together we could transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation of music lovers and regular citizens who want to be able to turn on the TV, read the newspaper, or surf the internet without having to see the ghastly visage of an undertalented, washed-up attention-whore and his ridiculous sunglasses. WE COMMIT ourselves - one person, one voice, one vote at a time - to make a better, Bono-less world for all."

Bono invited to tell city's youngsters about poverty

FRONTMAN of rock superstars U2, Bono, is to be invited to speak to children in Liverpool about world poverty, a forum of business leaders heard yesterday.

Leaders from the worlds of culture and commerce came together to hear what they can get out of 2008 from Culture Company artistic director Robyn Archer.

The breakfast briefing looked at the "Business of Art" and how it fits in with a bold new era for the city.

At yesterday's meeting at Tate Liverpool on the Albert Dock, Ms Archer revealed that Culture leaders would invite Bono to the city.

The request comes after teenagers said they wanted the U2 frontman to talk to them about world poverty.
