as with any stones song though, once you know the key....you gotta just feel your way through it. Mess around in "d" on this one and i think it will all come together.

whipcomesdown Here's what I think I'm hearing for lyrics so far:

Oh No Not You Again (Jagger/Richards/?)

There you stand before me
Waitin’ to be kissed
Oh a beauty, such a cutey
I could not resist

Been a month of Sundays
Since you last spoke (?)
You get ?????
We go party (?)
I fell out the boat

Oh no not you again
Fuckin’ up my life
We was bad the first time
I could (?) stand it twice

Oh no not you again
I can/can’t (?) stand the pain
It was bad first time around
?

They said it’s so romantic
Love is in the air
All is perfect
I’m allergic
To your business stare

You look so cool and tempting
Make me (?)
We’re predictin’ (?)
I’m predictin’ (?)
I’m nervous I confess

Oh no not you again
Matchin’ (or Messin’) (?) up my life
It was bad first time around
You had me in a vice

Oh no not you again
?
It was bad first time around
? right

Said it’s so romantic
Love is in the air
Fool in yellow
I’m like jello
Starin’ down your tits

My life flashes forward
Then it flashes back
?
?
Get me off the rack (?)

Oh no not you again
Fuckin’ up my life
It was bad first time around
I can’t stand it twice

Oh no not you again
I can’t stand the pain
We was bad the first time, baby
?

Oh no not you again
Messin’ up my life
It was bad first time baby
I better take my own advice

Oh no

Yeah

Oh no

Oh no

ßloody red ®ooster wooow im impressed, im listening to the song right now and theres a lot of it that makes sense many thx whipcomesdown!!

i dont agree, it sounds more like hes just hitting the 6,5,4th strings (244xxx) so its more like a power chord then minor or major
June 7th, 2005 07:25 AM
ßloody red ®ooster ok i edited it now, i should've done that from the beginning but i wasnt thinkin about it

but calling it "F#" is like saying it's a major, no?
I still think it's a minor...

i dont know, dont think so but i dont know what to call it then? i edited about the power chords on top hope that sorts it out... play it how you like as long as it sounds good man!
June 7th, 2005 07:46 AM
Rutger I think F# simply means Fsharp 244(322), but it seems Keith only plays the root and the fifth. So it's really a F#(sharp) power chord.

Um ... no. Flats/sharps, major/minor -- two different concepts.

I meant 'F#'s in this specific song, not in general.

i think thats what he's saying ?

anyway read what Rutger said
June 8th, 2005 07:10 AM
Rutger I understand why Zak gets confused over this. If you play F# (sharp) 244(322) without hitting the three bottom strings, it looks like you're playing an F#m.
But this is not the case. Keith only plays the root and the fifth, which are F#, C# (and another F# --> 244). This means that the third note to make it an F#m isn't there.

I hope you understand now Zak.

zak I’m not confused, Rutger. I know what "F#" is, what "F#m" is, and what "F#(drop 3)" is.
The one thing YOU don't understand is – even if one instrument plays the root and 5th only – it's only a part of the arrangement. Now, you say the third is not there. I say it's there (at least a hint of it). Listen carefully to the verse that follws the first chorus. Right after "love is in air…" – you hear the A note?

I’ll put it this way:
As in many Stones songs, it's impossible to exactly name the chords because it's full of fills and accents floating around.
However, if I had to write an easy guide for this song I wouldn't call it "F#". maybe "F#m". or at least mention you should drop the third. Because it's certainly not a major chord. That's all I'm saying.

Ok, let's drop it now. At least until August.

(* and please excuse my bad english *)

Rutger I guess we had a misunderstanding then. I was under the impression you didn't understand what Keith was playing. Sorry for that mate!
Anyway, I agree on your 'arrangement' comment. It could be right that there is an F#m played, I'd have to listen to the song again. So we concluded that the main chord remains an F# power chord , and if so with an accent.

ßloody red ®ooster yeah i agree on that guys, maybe keith is playing something close to a F#m i dont know, i listened to the song - after the "love is in the air" like you said Zak, its really hard to hear what it is cause to me it sounds like a crash between the two guitars, something that wasnt meant to be?

well anyway the chords i wrote down they are the basics , its what Ronnie plays...( so dont take it toooo seriously, i mean he variates it alot, probably) and if you listen to the "making of the album" or what its called - where only Ronnie's playing - you can hear it pretty clear, them power chords

im sorry if it caused you any trouble
dont judge me too hard

Soldatti Here the lyrics from the PC version:

Here I stand before you waiting to be kissed
You're a beauty, such a cutie--how could I resist?
Its been a month this Sunday since we last spoke
So much water, you couldn't douse us, I fell out of the boat

Oh no not you again fucking up my life
It was bad the first time around, I can't stand it twice
Oh no not you again, I can't stand the pain
Once bitten twice shy, you put me out again

It sounds so romantic, love is in the air
All was perfect, I was allergic from the very first stare
You look so cool and tempting in your couture dress
I get excited, I get aroused I was dying to confess

Oh no not you again messing up my life
It was bad the first time, get out of my life
Oh no not you again, I begin to shout
It was bad the first time you turned me inside out

Everybody's talking, showing off their wit
The moon is yellow, I'm like Jello staring at your tits
My life flashes forward and then it rushes back
Am I dreaming? Am I screaming?
Get me off the rack

Oh no not you again, I can't stand the pain
It was bad the first time let me out of the cage
Oh no not you again fucking up my life
It was bad the first time around, I can't stand it twice
Oh no not you again, I can't stand the pain
It was bad the first time around, I can't see your face

poplar - month of sundays is expression for a long boring time so you may be right

So much water, you couldn't douse us, I fell out of the boat

avoiding, one hopes, any "sharks" (thought to be dinner, crying or otherwise)

as someone who has dogged mick's lyrics over the past decade or so ... this effort isn't half bad.

A month of Sundays" meaning "a long time," was a common expression in England 50 years ago. Perhaps it is still commonly used in Britain, but I have not heard in Canada.

even more recent than that i'd say poplar - what do our UK friends say

it's still current here - tho probably not used as much as it once was

having noodled with this now - it's all good, cept for the F# (major or minor both sound ok to me). hell it's keith, nothing is the same way twice. like mick says: "can't stand it twice."

good tune. hope there are more where this one came from.
