Red is a fantastic album I heard it back in 1974 after a trip in peyote, when I got home between other albums I heard Red and Larks' Tongues in Aspic, that music was made in heaven

Right now it's "Starless". I'm not too familiar with K. Crimson or with prog rock (whose worst sin seems to be pomposity), but this album hasn't dated one iota. Regardless of what genre it is attached to, it's just beautiful. (And I'm too stupid right now as to get myself something invigorating.)

Make It Funky Hey Sir Stones... this one's for you mate. I always feel so pretentious posting to people what Im listening to. But to jump-start the site.. I'll do my part! :-)

Im listening to:

The Bus Boys, "Boys are Back in Town" off the 48 Hrs sound track. Its a boogie bluesy thing, kinda like Kenny Loggins meets Downchild Blues Band. They used to open up for Eddie Murphy, when he was a stand-up comic. Great little tune. Ian Stewart style barrel-house piano rolls...

Kings of Leon: "Happy Alone". This is A MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't download it, then, you're insane. Its got that George Thorogood boogie kinda thing, like "Cocaine blues" he covered of Johnny Cash's 1958 hit... Amazing hook riff, line, I love the phrasing of Kings of Leon.

Les McCaan: "Compared To What (Tryin' To Make it Real)" from the great live jazz record, Swiss Movements, Montreaux Jazz Festival, 1969. Along with Eddie Harris on Saxaphone. Its great. Eddie has that King Curtis feel... breezy, balmy and smoooooooth... Yeah.. get this tune!!!

Black Crowes: A live cover of Joe Cocker's "Feelin Alright" from the Letterman show in '94. Not like the Original Traffic rendition. More piano... Its Great.

And trying to get into Mars Volta and The Killers as well...

Thanks! Cheers! Enjoy!

Cant Catch Me The Meters -- "Look-Ka Py Py"
Earlier, Robert Fripp and Andy Summers -- "I Advanced Masked"
Before that, Carla Olson and Mick Taylor -- "Too Hot For Snakes"

Hey SIA, I just saw your earlier post about the Meters. Cool band, huh? They're pretty low-key 'cuz of so few vocals but quite funky all the same.

King Crimson's "Red" rules! "Lark's Tongue" too! And Eno!

Gazza Bob Dylan - Seattle 7th March 2005!! Bob's first show of the year and the first with his new-look band.

with the 8 hour time difference, the show was over at about 7 am my time and was uploaded on EZT at lunchtime, my time, yesterday. When I got home from work, I started downloading it at about 7 pm and had it completed and transferred to CD before I went to bed last night - some 20 hours after Bob left the stage.

I think it's already one of the most snatched and seeded shows in the history of that site. There were 150 people seeding it last night which made the download so fast.

Listening to it now..great stuff!
