VoodooChileInWOnderl That's a great show, after Nicky's song "Pig's Boogie" (from his second album) Nicky himself made a false Band Introduction and he's the one doing the countdown to New Year's Eve before playing "Auld Lang Syne"

Child of the Moon mac_daddy, you're officially my favorite! :_)

Tonight, it's been The Grateful Dead From the Mars Hotel. Great5 album, especially for Pride of Cucamonga, US Blues, Unbroken Chain, anfd the absolutely PERFECT Scarlet Begonias.

I've got Freedom's Child, have you any recommendations
on his other stuff...
I really need to get back to Austin...

Nelster, I know all his 70's stuff is gold, but it's all pretty damn good, chunk of coal, gypsy boy, old five an dimers are must hears

I'm a bit of a late bloomer to his more recent studio stuff, but I'm gonna put Nasty's recommendation (Earth Rolls..) as "next to get" on THE LIST

speakin of, where ya been Nasty? I was gonna ask you about that jon wayne you mentioned a while back, what's the skinny on it

Q: heard this righteous version of Miss You on the radio today, sung by some chick, kinda nora jonesish, song had sort of a lazy opium rollin, latin-calypso, lounge groove kinda thing to it, anyone know who this is ? reminded me of the cowboy junkies version of sweet jane

Currently watching the newly released Lucinda Willaims Live ACL dvd and it's as they say...

WICKED PISSA!

Dan Plant Page Irvine 95 DVD

Mostly just listening to KXLU or KCRW. Been getting decent coverage on KXLU lately. I think it was moving to Northridge in 95 and not getting KXLU that suddenly shifted my emphasis to classic rock and overpriced nostalgia tours to begin with,

Right now I think I would be quite nostalgic over a Jesus Lizard reunion tour!

Earth Rolls On is definitely the shining moment of the Billy Joe/Eddy Shaver combo - killer songs plus killer guitar with appearances by key Wilco-man Jay Bennett = Goddamn Strong Stuff Buddy, You Know It.

Jon Wayne's Texas Funeral izza flatout BEEEZARR mid 80s cross between the Fall, Charlie Feathers, David Koresh, and too much dope. It is also one of the funniest records I've ever heard, but in a seriously "this is so goddamn dumb it's genius" elevated Surfin' Bird kind of a way, only "offensive" too. I think you'd love it, but I don't think you'd play it, you know, tons. Apparently they recently released some more shit from those sessions. Their story is pretty well outlined at http://www.jonwayne.com

I don't know whose version of Miss You that is. I assume it's not the Etta James version.

Currently: Charlie Feathers. Chicken Legs Weaver.

straight up, WP!
