I'm listening to Stones boots in the car non-stop.
In addition, there was an awesome record released last Tuesday. It's a great, great album much better than anticipated. I've been listening to it at work in between securing Stones tickets for Atlanta and Charlotte.
Robert Plant and the Strange Sensations- Mighty Rearranger
It probably won't sell a ton of records but who cares when it's music this good. It very much has a Zeppelinish feel throughout. In fact, most of it sounds like a very good Led Zeppelin record. It's by far Robert Plant's best record (better than Zen and Now). In my opinion, it's the best release from any former member since the band broke up in 1980.
Highly recommended. With high quality releases such as this and Springsteen's Devils & Dust, I'm really hoping that the Stones have great quality control standards and put out a great CD maybe even a classic.

Since Wednesday, I've been listening to the Grateful Dead's Beyond Description boxed set - essentially, their last ten albums, complete with bonus tracks. Right now I've got the bonus disc from Dead Set on. This is the best investment I've made in quite some time, and it probably will be until I buy my ticket to see the Rolling-fuckin'-Stones. |

Went combing the bargain cd racks yesterday and wielded some great results:
Billy Joe shaver ~ Freedoms Child
Dale Watson ~ Cheatin Heart Attack
Roky Erickson and the Aliens ~ I think of Demons
Lucinda Willaims ~ Sweet Old World & Passionate Kisses single (the song pk and 4 live accoustic blues numbers, one word ~~ Awesome!)
"Passionate kisses whoa oh oh
Passionate kisses from you
Is it too much to demand,
I want a full house and a rock and roll band"

Way to score in the bargain bin, BH!
For me it's all about the GUN CLUB right now, although there are a few other things I like:
I really think you guys would like the BASSHOLES album (s/t) on the DEAD CANARY Label. It's some kind of blues/rock landmark.
Hey VoodooChile ---> Have you ever heard the Steve Morgen album MORGEN that originally came out on ABC/Probe. A CD of it just came out and it crushes me with its psychedelic heaviness. Also, have you heard about this new psych band Dungen?
Nellcote - you got to get The Earth Rolls On
