sway Maxy & Joey,

Your wisdom is beyond measure. I shall say a little prayer that one of us is at the show where Taylor jams with Ronnie's liver. Talk about combustible!

Let Me Go!~Let It Go!!

Reminds me of the old tv show "Time Tunnel"

Let's harken back to yesteryear, will you?
Where Tie Die was in
Gas .42 per gallon, when you could fill up
Streaking popular
Slay a case of Maximus Super every Friday night
Followed by Tango or Boone's Farm Saturday Night
Ounce of Acapulco Gold-$20.
Or grow your own
Typical Weekend-
All gathered in a vacant sand pit, trunks lined
with ice, mobile coolers if you will
Huge bonfire, with M-80's for entertainment
We'd even turn on the Feds when they showed up
12 speakers in my 67 Ford Fairlane convertible all blasting
8 tracks of every Stones album
Head out to "Jack in the Box" long after midnight,
to tank up on greasy Mexican swill.
Home by 430AM-5, deliver the paper.

Time Tunnel Ends

TomL 20 Dollar lids(five finger at that) and french fries with gravy, and a stones 8 track. That's all you needed. That was a while ago. Brought back some merories.
06-07-02 02:29 PM
Maxlugar Wait so wanting the extremely talented Mick Taylor back in the band is living in the past?

I think not. I'd like to see Taylor with the band TODAY!

Get it?

Yeah!

Awacka wacka HO!
Awacka wacka HO!
Awacka wacka MAXY!!
Awacka wacka HO!

Drank at lunch. Sorry.
06-07-02 02:38 PM
Nellcote Forgot about the "five finger lids" yeah, that was the measuring stick.....Tops, unless they were firm, were
a waste, as were seeds. Panama Red was always a tough
find, might go $40. Bong w/Ripple was always good

Here's one I forgot

Stones-72 Boston Garden Stevie Wonder opening...
WAS THERE!!!! $6.50! Man, I can still remember
the last song, SFM, absolute best. Taylor was all
that you heard from Dallas '72, MSG Birthday Show,
Philly 72, all the hot boots .

There you go, a tidbit of actual Taylor sighting when with the Stones, from one who was in his midst in July 72, from one who was there

06-07-02 02:43 PM
Joey There are men high up there fishing,
Haven't seen quite enough of the world,
I ain't seen a sign of Taylor with the Stones
And I'm still diving down for pearls.

Let me flow into the ocean,
Let me get back to the sea.
Let me be stormy and let me be calm,
Let the tide in, and set me free.

I'm flowing under bridges,
Then flying through the sky,
I'm travelling down cold metal
Just a tear in taylor's eye.

Let me flow into the ocean
Let me get back to Jones Beach
Let me be stormy and let me be calm
Let the tide in, rush over me.

I am not the Broker
This can't be the Aragon
But I am in the water,
As far as I can see...

I'm remembering distant memories
Recalling other names.
Rippling over canyons,
And boiling in Charlestons

-- Thank You

Jo- Jo , Jo- Jo , Jo- Jo , Jo- Jo Joey !!!!!!

Joey Wamma Bing Bang !

So Hit It !!!!

Cardinal Ximinez Hey Maxy!

What wuz ya drinkin'?

Lemme ask you a question....why do you want to see the talented Micky Quitter in the band today?

It's because of his past with the band...no? Because of how he played the songs way back when...right?

So in essence you want to relive the past by having him play with the Stones in the present. Right?

I don't have a problem with that at all....as long as it isn't in exclusion of what we already have.

Pretty simple.
06-07-02 03:10 PM
mattb Know of any soundboard boots from MSG birthday show?
06-07-02 03:21 PM
Maxlugar No I don't think it's because I yearn for the past at all.

I love the way he plays guitar.

I think Keith and him have improved quite a bit over the years.

I yearn to see what they could do together in the studio now.

And live? Forget it! It would smoke.

Look, Taylor was wrong for leaving them without much notice and they were wrong for not giving him credit for songwriting. Let the past be the past. It's time for healing.

And besides, I've said it before: Ronnie can stay. Put him on Bass. In fact they don't have a bass player. They can all play bass. Have the switch off. Ronnie already moved over for Jeff Beck. Have him move over for Micky T.

Max "I have a plan" Lugar!

Max , I would like to caress your kneecaps and nibble your elbows for being so damn smart .

May the good lord shine a light on you tonight at Faces and Names . But please get their early , the place fills up pretty fast . I hear Kudlow drinks there .

06-07-02 03:38 PM
Cardinal Ximinez Well, I guess it all goes back to the type of music that you like. You like Jeff Beck and Mick Taylor and 10 minute solos...I think any solo beyond 10 seconds is overblown noodling. I much prefer short lead fills, and harmonic power riffing.

So how do both camps get along?

The Stones can't play both ways at the same time.
06-07-02 03:51 PM
mattb I'm not sure which is worse. Still crying about something that happened 30 years ago or having a life so boring you go on the net to share it with everyone.
06-07-02 03:53 PM
Maxlugar Thanks Joey!

That means a lot.

I would like to take a cordless drill and bore a 1/8th inch hole in your skull, tip you over and hold you up by your ankles over a nice chilled pilsner glass.

And then, my friend, I shall drink heartily of your cranial fluid.

Your smooth, icy hack-brain fluid will revitalize me.

Oh my God! Poem Alert! Go!

Joey - The Scumbag Hack Poster.

He is a man with no shame.
In '99 he took on a new name.
His posts smelled of crap
His thoughts sticky, like sap.
So my posts he would steal.
Making me an enemy was his deal.
Joey is his name.
And he is a big giant scumbag.

--Maxlugar 6/7/02

Thanks!

Have a great Friday Night everyone! I'll check in frequently!

06-07-02 04:18 PM
littleredrooster A lot of folks seem to crucify Mick Taylor for leaving the band in a lurch. We've heard the politically correct "pasted in the tabloid" reasons. Anyone from the Stones inner circle actually know the truth?? It has been 30 years and this should be declassified. The truth is out there!!! I've read the explanations are there more??

"lets bury the hatchet.........Let's Rock and Roll!!!!"

This is absolutely beautiful .............Thanks Max . I shall frame this one and hang it above the famous HP Watering hole known simply as " Charlestons " . The bartenders thank you , my colleagues thank you and I , above all , simply adore you and your cranial fluid .
