Too right! Many French people seem miserable but I do not care their country is the business!

Ditto, best food (no question) best wine (no question)!

Monkey Woman Hi, marko! That's a great idea you've had. If you are coming to Paris, I'll be glad to meet you and your family. In addition to the sights, the restaurants, etc., there's a nice Stones theme bar where we can have a few beers.

That is, if you're not deterred by the negative publicity, of course!
20th May 2004 02:06 PM
marko Well,Paris is sort of plans, you know, but i would NEVER drive
there. So,we should leave our car to a camping area outside
paris,take buss/train,and meet somewhere!
I think it sounds good?Couple of e-mails and change of phone
numbers,no problem.

Sounds good, yeah! And you're wise not to drive in Paris, the traffic is mad. That, alas, is not hype.

I'll PM you with my e-mail addy.
21st May 2004 01:59 AM

Monkey Woman Good guess! It's a Nokia indeed. Good Finnish brand!
21st May 2004 09:29 AM
Riffhard I'm not gonna shit on France here. Yes,it's true that some French people(not all)are arrogant and hate everthing that's not French, however,it is a stunningly beautiful country and I have met plenty of freindly people from France.

That said, there are plenty of California wines that will compare to and surpass anything out of France. The Nappa Valley infact has recently had more gold medal winning wines than France and Italy combinded.

I love good wine and it's not fair,or wise,to dismiss California wines. I also love a good Austrailian Shiraz(Sirrah). Good stuff!

Riffhard

I wasn't aware that anyone was being so "unwise and air" and actually dismissing Cali wines?!?!?!?

South African are my favourite!

Marko - it would be ace to part with y'all! but I am so skint you would have to come to the UK!
21st May 2004 11:28 AM
Riffhard Don't take me wrong here Zeeta. I was not stating that anyone was dismissing California wines. I just pointing out that after years of French dominance in wine making California wines are now considered just as good and sometimes better than their French counterparts. That said, there are still some French wines that are better than Cali wines. It goes back and forth these days. That was never the case twenty or thirty years ago.

Marko how about a summit at YOTI in Manhattan in 2005?

Compaired to Marseille, paris is disneyland when it comes to driving.

Marko, wil you be coming down south as well?
21st May 2004 01:14 PM
Monkey Woman Even better, take the opportunity to make it a "Stones in France" tour... Paris, the beautiful green Loire valley (where Mick has a little chteau), and of course in the South, the villa Nellcte near Nice. Maybe St-Paul-de-Vence, with Bill's house... Picasso and Marc Chagall used to live there too.

It's a long driving but if you want to tour through France it would give you an opportunity to see many different places and sights and people.

BTW, there's a ads campaign in Paris right now for tourism in Finland!

21st May 2004 02:10 PM
marko Well, nice and all that were on our plans, but history and
WW2 places are number one, besides versailles and eiffel
tower.After paris,we will head to Munich(eagles nest),and
the castle in Fussen.then its poland and auschwitz.
But,since roads are fast to drive,we can allways change our
plans.
21st May 2004 02:12 PM
jb Thanks marko...be careful on the autohban...
