DizzyDutchman This is Nijmegen the oldest city of The Netherlands.
the Stones played here twice during the 1995 Voodoo Lounge Tour.
(also the city of the famous 4-day walk)

Here is a great photo of Nijmegen:

And this picture below shows 'GoffertPark' in Nijmegen, the holy ground of The Netherlands.
All big rock acts have played in this park
in the last 20 or 30 years...
U2,
The Stones,
Lenny Kravitz,
R.E.M.,
Bon Jovi,
Guns & Roses,
Tina Turner,
David Bowie,
Pink Floyd.
and ofcourse lots of big events and festivals,
Rockin' Park, Fields of Rock and more....

Michael, from Nijmegen!

corgi37 This is Melbourne, the shit hole i come from. Looks ok, but the city is full of wogs, druggies, muggers & gays.

This is the just finished Eureka Tower. Supposed to be the tallest residential builiding in the world. As if that means anything? I mean, can it get you laid? Get it get you drunk?

This is Natalie Basthingthwaite. She's in Neighbours - a Melbourne made soapie that launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce, Russel Crowe, Delta Goodrem, Holly Valance, Nicola Charles, Craig McLachlan and a new cutie called Stephanie McIntosh (who is step-sister to Jason Donovan!). Natalie is in a band called "Rogue Traders" who are slaying them here, and is off to U.K. to play some gigs. She voted in the top 25 of sexy Melbourne bitches.

This is my front yard with my darling Egon. He's been replaced by my other darling, Daethgod, but i still have feelings for him.

Strong feelings.

And this is the best beer in the world, made right here in Melbourne.

This is what my hometown looked like 5 years ago, and I'm hoping that in another 5 years it looks like this again.

Call Your Mother...
Communication and Community in Bryant Pond
April 8 Through May 28, 2006

Maine State Museum ÷ Augusta, Maine

Call Your Mother... The Bryant Pond Telephone Company Collection is a display featuring the switchboards of the Bryant Pond Telephone Company, the last hand-crank telephone system in the United States. The two switchboards of the Bryant Pond Telephone Company had been centered in Elden and Barbara Hathaway's living room for nearly thirty-two years and the telephone office had become the communications center for the town. The exhibit will discuss how the hand-crank telephone system worked, and examine its role in community life. Also to be featured in the exhibit will be a crank phone booth, some lineman’s tools and memorabilia from the Don’t Yank the Crank campaign.

It was a slum still in 1989... just surrounded by Casinos. They tore the projects down and moved the undesirables somewhere else.
Late at night, I sometimes wake up and can still smell it!
