Topic: Who do you take to a Stones concert? Return to archive
May 31st, 2005 05:36 AM
ListenToTheLion I always go with one or two good friends who are also longtime fans. I never join groups because most of the so called 'Stones fans' are bold, noisy, fat, stoned, drunk, ignorant, prejudiced and going for a pee when Keith starts to sing.
(And don't take a girl with you when you are in love with her: very distracting)

Dan I usually just go alone but I think I went with my mom 3 times (out of 23). You are right about taking chicks to concerts!

FotiniD I've been to only two Stones gigs so far and both of them were with my uncle Bill and my aunt Christina. Not the typical uncle and aunt in the world and I can't think of better company.

Last time around one my best friends was also with us, and she was kind enough to do all the photo shooting while I was busy screaming my lungs out singing along The only problem with that was that she kept apologizing -during the gig- she couldn't get any closer shots. Well, alright already! Yeah, I know I'm being mean.

But yes, I can't imagine attending a gig with a boyfriend or object of desire Too distracting. To be honest, I lost part of the PC webcast just for this reason *sigh*

M.O.W.A.T. I've taken my best friend (who happens to be a girl and a big Stones fan) 3 times so far and we've always had a great time. Will also be taking her to Toronto this fall. As for the Ottawa show, I will be taking another girl (she asked me. This is her first Stones concert).

Jaxx one time i ditched my brother, his buddy and my sister to go to the closed section on the side of the stage.nowadays, i usually go alone or with my husband who bitches and moans the whole time about how they should just retire ( what's this, the viagara tour?) when steel wheels and b2b bypassed denver and i was having major withdrawals, i flew to oakland and attended b2bwith an old csu pal who had to remind me that i had a habit of walking into a parties back in the day and shouting "stoooooooonnnnnnnnnnes!'

last 2 tours i've been one of many to have had the pleasure of attending with gazza. voodoo was there too, well physically, anyway.

Candace Youngblood FPM and I always have a blast attending concerts together. I'm really looking forward to attending my first Stones shows with him. I don't think I will be distracting him during the show. Maybe on the ride home.

Happy Motherfucker!! I always take the wife. She's a big time Stones fan, especially Mick. When we first started dating in 97', she really didn't know much about the Stones at all, so I took her to Nashville and she absolutly loved it! She thinks Mick is about the most hottest man walking the planet. So, needless to say we look forward to attending as many shows as we can and I wouldn't think of going to a show without her. I also take along my 14 year old son to shows as well. He's seen them four times and really digs it, although he won't be seeing any shows this time because all of the ones we're going to he has football games on those days. I really wish he could go to one, but oh well that happens sometimes.

Soldatti I only saw the Stones once, and alone, but I have company for this tour.
May 31st, 2005 10:40 PM
Steel Wheels I only go with people who know how crazy I am for the Stones. I love to dance, sing along to the songs, and even shout out the following sentence:

"Keith, you fucking rule!"

VoodooChileInWOnderl When they play several shows here, the first one I take my wife, sister, one of my brothers and friends

The second only heavy-friends

BTW, glad the question wasn't What do you take to a Stones concert?

Phog Hell, I've gone to most Stones shows with my dad. That bastard saw 'em in '72 and still has the taste for live rock 'n' roll. Pretty cool.

Aside from pops, I'll go with my girlfriend and/or friends.

69 Chevy Concerts like the Rolling Stones, Springsteen, and Pink Floyd are events so I usually know 10-15 people at the show. Pre and post concert parties etc. Last time the Stones rolled thru Houston was no exception. This year do to ticket prices there seems to be very little interest. If I go at all I may go alone.

thats a good rule to follow

basically anyone that goes with me knows that on way too many occassions throughout the show I will stand on my seat and shout:
"KEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!"

whether or not they are cool with that is not a requirement for them to accompany me, its just makes it easier on them if they are willing to accept and embrace my freakish worship of Mr. Richards

the only other rule is that they need to afford the ticket.

(not so easy these days)

time is on my side I'll be going by myself on this tour. I'm the only one in my family that likes rock and roll. My wife loves latin music and the children are under the spell of rap & hip hop despite my best efforts.

My wife allows me a certain number of concerts a year as she understands my obsession with music especially good rock and roll (in the past, she's even allowed me to travel to foreign lands alone to see concerts).

Honky Tonk Man I don't take anything in particular with me, but on the last tour I took my dad to the first Twickenham show and my mate to the first Wembley Arena show.

I travelled alone to the States for the Giants show, but had an absoloute blast with everyone I met!

I could of met people at the Olympiahalle show in Munich, but It wasn't to be. I was on my lonesome!
