Topic: Why do we love the Stones more than others? Return to archive Page: 1 2

steel driving hammer Are we smarter than others?

Are we holding on to a memory?

Or are they just that good and 99% of the population doesn't know it?

Personally, I love them because of how Keith and Charlie sound, together.

They are the definition of good, imo. 99% of the population has simply been brainwashed and forgotten about it.

They have set the foundations and have been the creators of so many things in music, lyrics, trends, acts, that today's newer bands become famous of.

They're the epitome of rock 'n' roll; they got stories that could fill a huge bookcase. Songs to fill your heart with all sorts of emotions. They're it.

As Frank Zappa would say, you either get it or you don't! And I couldn't care less for those who don't! Let the bashers say what they want - we know better.

What does that mean? EVERYBODY knows they are the best. Some people are just better at dealing with it than others.

Nellcote This is a question which does not need to be asked.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

That about sums it up!

Dan They are one of the biggest bands of all time. Its not like we are talking about some obscure band asking why they never made it or were just a flash in the pan.

Riffhard The late great Ian Dury of Ian Dury and the Blockheads fame once wrote a song called Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll.

Without the Rolling Fucking Stones he never could have written that song! He wrote a song. The Stones invented the whole lifestyle that gave that song it's relevance.

It's true!

marko Because they are best band in history of music, best rock n
roll band of all time. They were the original bad boys of rock music, and they looked like it.
But this was 20years before keith loosed his brains in a
palm tree.

Steel Wheels The Stones for me represent the great escape. Their music gives me another place for my mind and soul to wander no matter where I am and what I'm doing. They pick me up when I'm down. They give me hope for a better tomorrow.

Charlie, Keef, Ronnie, Mick. Old friends happily making music and living the life they invented. Their joy makes me happy to support them. How can one not love Charlie Watts and his muted ego? He knows he's the best drummer in the best band. He's too proper to let on...he's a perfect gentleman.

Listening to the Stones is like a reward after a long day at work. Seeing them in concert is like going to church. They are my religion.

egon ""Why do we love the Stones more than others?""

Cos no other band can cancel 15 shows like the stones do.

I love them because now they're a part of me. When I was seeing them in Balto, Md on 2/1/06, I realized how I felt and why I kept coming back. I felt like I was part of them too.

Ten Thousand Motels It's hard to come up with more outrageous hyperbole.
I suppose it's partially a genetic predispostion.

maumau because they're better than others
because their timeless
their music sure is timeless, it was so in 1965 it still is now even if it is weaker
they define what rhythm and blues is
rolling stones is another way to spell rhythm and blues
and that happens everytime they play jjf again
at least imo
