I'm from a town in England called Rugby, pretty much slap bang in the middle of the country. not much going on here, but there are quite a few pubs in the town, so there is always something to do.
Talking of which, It's saturday afternoon, and I really should be leaving to meet my mates in the local rock bar. I'm wasting valuable drinkin time herre buddy.

Head quarters of Douglas McCarther's base in WW2. Table top dancing capitol of Oz. Currently, gang-land murder captitol of Oz! So far, 29 stiffs. And, home of real football. And, what a great game it is. My team is top of the tree, and unbeaten!! I cant believe it. But, there is a bad side to it. I have been going to the footy every week since around 85. I stood in mud and filth, weathered blistering hail, sleet and rain, just to watch my team get flogged every bloody week. I nearly committed suicide in 97 when we lost the Grand Final (in over 100 years of history, my team St.kilda, has won only one Grand Final, in 1966). I have seen all the bad times. But, now that we are winning games and playing like men possessed, i am stuck at home minding my twins because my wife has to work. It's killing me! In a spooky coincidence, our Grand Final is played at the MCG. The same MCG where the Stones tore the place apart in 95.
I live in the good part of town, none of this western suburbs crap for me. I work in a Police Station in a real fancy part of town. Good class of criminals here. |
