jb Thanks WolfgangC....I wonder if Gazza or HTM will make the shows....You know Bo Didley lives outside of gainesville, Florida where i went to college...I saw him at the 94 PPV in Miami...I think he is a little long in the tooth, but still worth catching.
26th May 2004 03:49 PM
polksalad69 Anyone seen him this tour? He was playing clubs in the US but didn't catch his show. He was very underwhelming several years ago at the Chicago Bluesfest. Yeah he was sick, but ...

Ten Thousand Motels One song wonder. Bo Didddley will go down in blues history as a bore. I mean I like the guy but talk about overrated.

What? Well the proof's in the puddin'. Bo Diddley is inconsequential. I like him but he's not an essential rung in the ladder like Little Richard, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker or Rick Nelson.

F505 TTM I know. But I dared once to put some critical remarks about Chuck Berry's current shows and Wolfgang exploded! But I think you are absolutely right...

I agree with you on Berry too....put's very little effort into shows and his disdain for the fans is unbelievable...he simply is trying to make a buck as he must be in financial distress b/c of all the legal hassles over the years ..

Yes that was great wasn't it. Bo is lousy. He can't sing or play anymore and apparently never could. Don't tell him that tho, he wants $$$ for inventing that little thing called the Bo Diddley beat. And of course Jody Williams played on his sides back in the day but he's pissed too because, oh forget it...

That show was very bad, I can tell you. Not what a typical Bo Diddley show is like.

If he never could play, why is he one of the Stones' idols then? Why did the Stones then try to revive his career several times?

Were you there? Do you have a recording? I cut out early to head up the Pine Valley Cosmonauts show that night. Memory is a little foggy but they had guests join him. Jody Williams, Billy Boy Arnold??? Nothing new there, happens all the time. Bands don't rehearse etc and the results are mixed.
