Topic: Biggest Mistake - promo Return to archive
24th May 2006 07:43 AM
StonesRolling-65 Seems like the new single will be delayed.
At least here in Europe, but got the promo today.

It has 4 tracks:
1. BM - radio edit - 3:31
2. BM - album version - 4:06
3. BM - instrumental - 4:06
4. Rough Justice - 3:13

So nothing special, but after what I've heard
there will be more edits of BM to come on
cd singles or/and promos.....

All the Best!

Nellcote Ironic this should be the single.
Does this sum up what Keith could be
thinking about wanting to "put the lime in the coconut"
You know, this great song?

ARTIST: Harry Nilsson
TITLE: Coconut

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime

She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

Now let me get this straight
Put the lime in the coconut, you drank 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, you called your doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Brother bought a coconut, he bought it for a dime
His sister had another one, she paid it for the lime
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, she called the doctor, woke him up, and said

Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Doctor, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Now let me get this straight

You put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both up (3x)
Put the lime in the coconut, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both down
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the morning

Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' you can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you said
Woo-oo, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said
Woo-oo, to relieve your bellyache, you say

Yeah-ah, ain't there nothing I can take, I say
Wow-ow, to relieve this bellyache, I said
Doctor, ain't there nothin' I can take, I said (3x)
Doctor, you're such a silly woman

Put the lime in the coconut, you drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut, then you feel better
Put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up
Put the lime in the coconut, and call me in the mo-o-ornin'

Yes, you call me in the morning
If you call me in the morning I'll tell you what to do {repeat to fade}

MrPleasant I misread "biggest mistake - PORNO". And I thought: "Finally, a place to vent my worries".

egon I'm happy to see that this single does not include a
previously unreleased track. I already own 2 different copies of ABB... (see idiot list fo further details)

I remember something similar with Out Of Control, it came out in August 1998 almost a year after of ASMB.

yeah I'm personally fucking delighted that the only song on the CD that ISNT 'Biggest Mistake' is a song that has already been released as a single.

That should help shift a few thousand extra copies!

what happened to the 'Superbowl' songs that were listed as bonsu tracks a few weeks ago?

Maybe theyre saving those for the 4th single from the album, which will, in the light of recent events, be 'Let me down slow' backed with 'Keith Fall Down'...

corgi37 Boy, talk about flogging a dead horse. I mean, really, why not just save money by not releasing anything? This is sad, as more than likely, this will be the last ever Stones single. What a crap way to go out.

maybe its chosen as such because of its 'ironic' title - ya know, like Elvis' last single was 'Way Down', the Beatles was 'Let it be', Eddie Cochran's "3 steps to heaven', Lennon's was 'Starting over' etc

'Moody Blue' was his last single I thought...I have a promo color 45 of it I bought in '77 just after he snuffed it

I thought 'Way Down' (off the same album) was his second-to-last single

?

30th May 2006 08:58 PM
Gazza seem to recall Way Down coming out about a week or two before he croaked it amd then topping the charts shortly after. Moody Blue was definitely the single that preceded it however. anyway, ya get the point - 'last singles recorded before they croaked/finished/split, etc' !
