Honky Tonk Man Thanks Matey, im intrested in all these old polls. A few of them read as you would expect. For example, Keith Moon been the best drummer. But i liked the idea of Bruce Springsteen been considered the second biggest fad of the year. Is this an American magazine? How the fuck is Ronnie evan in the same Leauge as Ritche Blackmore? Apart from that, i liked it. I think the NME poll was better though because that had top ten bass players. I think John Paul Jones won it most years.

Scot Rocks Ringo Starr how did he get to number 10?

Im_Shattered don't get me wrong Charlie is the best but i would have put John Bonham at 2nd and Charlie 3rd and why is Ringo on that list? he was washed up even then

Honky Tonk Man There are two reasons as to why Ringo made the list.

1 He was a in the Beatles
2 Everyone loves Ringo

Thats it really. And for fucks sake, whats wrong with him anyway. Just because George Martin thought he was no good and he never made a racket like Monn, doesnt mean he couldnt drum. He was a good time keeper like Charlie and like Charlie, he never over-played!!!! I think Keith Moon is proboaly my favourite drummer, but listen to his drumming, its not perfect by any means.

Saying that, in my opinion the best drummer was John Bonham, hands down!!! He could do the moon thing (better in fact!!) and he could also keep a steady beat which Keith couldnt always do. Heres my list of best drummers

1 John Bonham
2 Keith Moon
3 Charlie Watts
4 errm, now im stuck. I dont find any of the other drummers good enough for position 5.

Maxlugar Alex,

Try Simon Philips to round out your top ten list.

Fucking unbelievable flash druming and great time keeper.
