Topic: rare/never played songs this tour? Return to archive
05-23-02 11:27 AM
wkoetke3 Hi all:

On the B2B tour the boys made us all happy by dusting off songs rarely or never before played: YGTS, Moonlight Mile, I Got The Blues, etc.

What such gems, if any, still remain untouched out there that they could pull out this time around? Of course, repeating the above three would be pretty great too.

How about:

Loving Cup
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Where The Boys Go
Down In The Hole
Dance Pt. 1
Fingerprint File
Winter
Going Home (<--they probably don't need 11 minutes worth, but it could be a nice 5 minute blues number)
Stray Cat Blues
If You Can't Rock Me
Prodigal Son (center stage acoustic number)

Yes, I know it's overly Emotional Rescue heavy. But I love that album - much underrated, in my opinion.

What am I missing that would be real hard code fan pleasers?

I think its a good bet we'll hear "Sway" on this tour...Jagger did mention it recently in "UNCUT" as one of his 10 fave Stones songs ever...as did woody.which makes the fact that theyve never played it quite amazing.

Honky Tonker They never play:

Mandy
Disco Duck
YMCA
Convoy
Elvira
Macarena

Are Mick Taylor/Bill Wyamn required to play these classics?
05-24-02 03:33 PM
Mr T It's hard to say what's rare, cuz some tours certain songs are a must & others they don't even touch them. I mean Not Fade Away would be rare even though it was a highlight of an entire tour, right?
But here's what I REALLY want to see:

Can't You Hear Me Knocking

Stuff off Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge & Bridges to Babylon besides Rock in a Hard Place, Out Of Control, Saint of Me & You Got Me Rocking

Under My Thumb (when't the last time they played that?)

Something Off Tattoo You BESIDES Start Me Up (I would prefer no SMU at all in the show) - Tops or Black Limousine would be cool

Keith should do Happy/Little T& A this tour + a cover of Red House - to prove they aren't to old to try something new - could turn out well too

Stray Cat Blues

Hand Of Fate

Ventilator Blues/Torn & Frayed/Loving Cup

Something tells me Get Off My Cloud will make a comeback this tour

Saint Sway wkoetke3,
I can tell from your picks that your spending far too much time pleasuring yourself to Emotional Rescue and not enough time listening to killer 70's boots with "Loving Cup", "IYCRM", "Fingerprint File" etc

the tour is readily approaching, I suggest you quickly remove your worn out copy of Emotional Rescue from the turntable, put down the rubix cube, take off that silly "I Love Ms.Pac-Man" t-shirt and check out some of the Stones finer albums!
05-24-02 03:50 PM
voodoopug They did do Under My THumb on many Bridges to babylon shows, but a sped up version circa 1981 would be great
05-24-02 06:17 PM
Scot Rocks SWAY

CAN'T YOU HEAR ME KNOCKING

RIP THIS JOINT

LET IT LOOSE

SHIT IM SO UP FOR THIS TOUR I'LL TAKE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
