Rod Stewart was here, he played in Acapulco on Sunday (broadcast live on TV) and Monday and Tuesday at the "Auditorio Nacional" in Mexico City with 10,000 fans each day full at prices from $30 to $180 USD.
Some great Stewart-Wood songs from the early 70s, and let me tell you that yesterday he made a cool exception and for the first time on the tour he played Every Picture Tells a Story. He also dropped some pop tunes from the Monday setlist to made a more rock-oriented show yesterday.
In this song and also in Maggie May footage with Ronnie Wood was on the two big screens, so some Stones content on the shows
The back up musicians were all great and Rod voice is better than ever. |

Great news on Rod the Mod, given his cancer scare of last year. Caught the show last summer here in Massachusetts,
at Tweeter Center. Still in good form, however, you could tell he was suffering. Sounds like the same video montage he used here, oh to get a hold of that Faces footage...
Anybody have a copy of the show mentioned in Mexico last week, on video, I have interest!

Let me see if someone recorded as I couldn't. If I get you'll have it. But it was not a full concert, he was at the top of the bill in the closing show of the festival "Acapulco 2002" |

As someone who has seen Rod eight times,I'd like to say I've always been pleased with his show. He makes a real effort to please the fans and provides a good mix of hits and good songs which weren't hits. Also, he usually plays a Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, or Motown song. Hope he continues to recover from his cancer.
P. S. It's obvious that he and Ronnie positively affect one another, as friends and as musicians. They should work together more often.
