Ten Thousand Motels Look the reason I bring this up is that we have a new classic radio station within the range of my fm antenna. Yesterday when I was out on the road they were playing some pretty good stuff. Today while I'm home and have my finger on the record button they are playing shit classics. Anyway my question is about dj's. My feeling is that a good dj is hard to find. I mean I realize that its all pretty automated now, but what is the future of the professional dj?

Life is a rock but the radio rolled me!
Gotta turn it up louder, so my DJ told me!
Life is a rock but the radio rolled me!
At the end of my rainbow lies a golden oldie......

The best DJ that ever lived might be a regular on this board, Motesie.

No , THIS :

DIAMOND GIRL
( Seals & Crofts -- a fav of S. S. )

" Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Glad I found you, glad you're mine.
Oh my love, you're like a precious stone, part of earth where heaven has rained on.
Makes no difference where you are. Day or nighttime, you're like a shinin' star.
And how could I shine without you, when it's about you that I am?

Diamond Girl, roamin' wild. Such a rare thing, radiant child.
I could never find, another one like you. Part of me is deep down inside you.
Can't you feel the whole world a-turin'. We are real, and we are a-burnin'.
Diamond Girl, now that I've found you, it's about you that I am.

Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine.
Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. "

I saw Seals and Crofts in 72. Bored me to tears. But because everyone said they were so good I had to go along with it. I saw Dave Mason in the same place within a month or two AND I KNEW he was good!

Chic - Le Freak
=================

" Ah, freak out!

Le Freak, C’est Chic

Freak out!

Ah, freak out!

Le Freak, C’est Chic

Freak out!

Chorus

Have you heard about the new dance craze

Listen to us, I’m sure you’ll be amazed

Big fun to be had by everyone

It’s up to you, it surely can be done

Young and old are doing it, I’m told

Just one try, and you too will be sold

It’s called Le Freak, they’re doing it night and day

Allow us, we’ll show you the way

Chorus (2x)

All that pressure got you down

Has your head spinning all around

Feel the rhythm, check the ride

Come on along and have a real good time

Like the days of stomping at the Savoy

Now we freak, oh what a joy

Just come on down, two fifty four

Find a spot out on the floor

Chorus

Now Freak!

I said Freak!

Now Freak!

All that pressure got you down

Has your head spinning all around

Feel the rhythm, check the ride

Come on along and have a real good time

Like the days of stomping at the Savoy

Now we freak, oh what a joy

Just come on down, two fifty four

Find a spot out on the floor "

THIS :

Good Times
Chic
1979
Sister Sledge 1992
(Edwards/Rodgers)

" Good times, these are the good times
Leave your cares behind, these are the good times
Good times, these are the good times
Our new state of mind, these are the good times

Happy days are here again
The time is right for makin' friends
Let's get together, how 'bout a quarter to ten
Come tomorrow, let's all do it again

Boys will be boys, better let them have their toys
Girls will be girls, cute pony tails and curls
Must put an end to this stress and strife
I think I want to live the sporting life

Good times, these are the good times
Leave your cares behind, these are the good times
Good times, these are the good times
Our new state of mind, these are the good times

A rumor has it that it's getting late
Time marches on, just can't wait
The clock keeps turning, why hesitate
You silly fool, you can't change your fate
Let's cug the rug, a little jive and jitterbug
We want the best, we won't settle for less
Don't be a drag, participate
Clams on the half shell and roller-skates, roller-skates

Good times, these are the good times
Leave your cares behind, these are the good times
Good times, these are the good times
Our new state of mind, these are the good times "

Joey " One Of These Nights "

" One of these nights
One of these crazy old nights
We're gonna find out
Pretty mama
What turns on your lights
The full moon is calling
The fever is high
And the wicked wind whispers
And moans

You got your demons
You got desires
Well, I got a few of my own

Oo, someone to be kind to in
Between the dark and the light
Oo, coming right behind you
Swear I'm gonna find you
One of these nights

One of these dreams
One of these lost and lonely dreams
We're gonna find one
One that really screams

I've been searching for the daughter
Of the devil himself
I've been searching for an angel in white
I've been waiting for a woman who's a little
Of both
And I can feel her but she's nowhere
In sight

Oo, loneliness will blind you
In between the wrong and the right
Oo, coming right behind you
Swear I'm gonna find you
One of these nights

One of these nights
In between the dark and the light
Coming right behind you
Swear I'm gonna find you
Get 'ya baby one of these nights
One of these nights
One of these nights
I can feel it
I can feel it
One of these nights
Coming right behind you
Swear I'm gonna find you now
One of these nights..etc.... "

Take It To The Limit

" All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
(spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
(Can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(Can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time "

Bloozehound Take It Easy

Well, I'm a runnin' down the road, tryin' to loosen my load,
I've got seven women on my mind:
four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me,
one says she's a friend of mine.
Take it easy, take it easy,
don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy.
Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand,
just find a place to make your stand and take it easy.

Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see:
it's a girl, my Lord, in a flat bed Ford
slowin' down to take a look at me.
Come on, baby, don't say maybe.
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me.
We may lose and we may win though we will never be here again.
So open up, I'm climbin' in, so take it easy.

Well, I'm a runnin' down the road, tryin' to loosen my load,
got a world of trouble on my mind.
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover,
she's so hard to find.
Take it easy, take it easy,
don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy.
Come on, baby, don't say maybe.
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me.
Oh, we got it easy,
we oughta take it easy.
