Topic: Townshend/Scoop CDs Question (NSC) Return to archive
May 26th, 2004 10:14 AM
justinkurian Hey I was wondering if anyone had any of Townshend's Scoop albums? I ordered them through his website and they're on the way.

I have Lifehouse Chronicles, so I know that some demos are fully fleshed out. But, I was curious to know if anyone had any input on some of the songs.

Thanks.

sirmoonie They are hit and miss. The first Scoop is much better than the second, having more finished demos and more falling in Townshend's supreme period. Check out Mary on Scoop and ponder how incredible that would have been if the band had ever done it. That song alone makes the album worth it.

jb The last "great" Who concert I saw was in 89 at Joe Robbie Stadium.

Nellcote JB, good to see your conservative use of the word "great", as it is an extremely overused word. You are finally getting "it".

Yes , I have the first " Scoop " and it is vital , coherent , compelling and quite illuminating .

I also got " The Who Live : Chicago , December 8th , 1979 " on DVD ( three disc set ) featuring a " Coked Out " Pete ( complete with his scruffy soccer hooligan look )jumping all around the stage , bouncing up and down , showboating -- whilst playing the LIVING HELL out of his guitar .....................it's to die for !!!!!!!

" FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A clown who goes by the name of "Spanky" has been arrested on child pornography charges while traveling with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey (search) circus, federal agents said.

Thomas Riccio, 23, of Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested Friday by Fayetteville police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (search) agents to face 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, the federal agency said Tuesday.

Leads from a federal investigation in New Jersey linked Riccio to a company in Belarus that provided credit card billing services for more than 50 child pornography Web sites internationally, said Immigrations and Customs Enforcement spokesman Dean Boyd.

Police and federal agents searched Riccio's computer and found thousands of images, many involving young children participating in sexual acts, authorities said.

About 100 people have been arrested in the United States based on the Belarus investigation and 100 others were arrested in Denmark earlier this year, he said.

Riccio remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $150,000 bail. "

Too bad he doesn't have Pete's money .............
