I'd be interested to hear what percentage
of everyone's music listening time is dedicated
to the Stones.
My percentage is around 90% |
|
shakedhandswithkeith |
about 50 percent |
|
T&A |
probably less than 5% - I listen to far more blues and jazz than anything else. |

Bloozehound |
ruff estimate, i'd say 20% of the time it's Stones related.

Lazy Bones |
Approximately between 18.5 - 21.3% when not on tour. When they're touring, close to triple that. These numbers may seem low to some. However, if I'm home, the stereo's on. Always. Even if I'm not listening directly to it. So this contributes to a lot of Stones.
I listen to more Stones, however, on weekends (compared with weekdays) and, while cleaning the house. Even more so when cleaning the car. And even more so when I'm having a few beers!
I'd also have to say that I listen to more Stones during the summer (compared with the other seasons). When the kids are home, a Stones DVD is usually their request (Shrek and Freaky Friday rank 2nd and 3rd). And, of course, as a great father, I don't disappoint!
Now, excuse me. I have a 3-day weekend ahead of me with some Stones to listen to... |

Including Winos, Charlie solo and the Stones I'd have to say approx. 95%. The rest is pure blues. I'm not into "new" music at all. |

Stones about 80% (mainly boots these days) - the rother 20% divided between my other 'passions' - Elvis Presley and Bob Dylan - what a fucking cool mix!!!! |

For me, it would have to be 90% (Stones as well as Stones-related)-- Most new music bores me to tears (the White Stripes being the exception), but I do like to pick up most of the cd's people recommend on these boards (my recommendation -- the new Toots & the Maytalls CD. I'm about to pick up the new Loretta Lynn album 'cause i've heard nothing but good reviews from people here). |

Unfortunately this is true for me as well. If anything it's Stones boots. Blues for sure, a bit of outlaw cuntry (sic). Chet Baker lately to relax. |

Trey Krimsin |
Recently, it's about 60 percent. The other music I've been playing has been by Prince, J. Geils Band, and Stone Temple Pilots. |

Love it! They're constantly asking me if I can take them to a show! They love Gimme Shelter (the movie). My youngest is always a little concerned when fans rush the stage. I think she truely fears for Mick.
My oldest will be 6 on 1st June (shares a bday with Ronnie) and my youngest will be 4 on Halloween.

Since its Stones downtime, i'd be happy to yak outlaw country, some blues too, and maybe touch on jazz.

Had a late start, I only became an insane Stones fan from around age 17 onward. But there was a period, around 23-24 years old, when the ONLY music I listened to was Beggar's, LIB, Sticky, Exile, and Darkly. That was fucking it - wouldn't even try any other Stones, much less other music I loved. All I could think of were Stones. Right around there it cemented in my mind that there is no music, and there will NEVER be any music as great as that created by The Rolling Stones during those times.
Now, 38 years old, I listen to about 20% Stones, although it can go to around 75% on certain weeks.
Stones are still the primary driving force, though. All these years, only The Who and Neil Young come close. |

I would guess in the 10-20% range. I definitely go through phases though. I will put 6cd's in the car changer and leave them in for a month. Just last night I took out 5 Charley Patton CD's and Roxy Music's - Avalon. I replaced them with The Rolling Stones: Englands Newest Hits Makers, 12x5, Now, Out of Our Heads (uk), Got live if you want it & The Beatles Rubber Soul. That's a 5:1 ratio in favor of the Stones!
Ah...So much music...so little time... |
