Topic: Stu on bass - Ed Sullivan rehearsals - Nov 1969 Return to archive

Gazza Presuming this is a rehearsal

It couldnt be Ready Steady Go - that show ended in 1966, it's nothing like their studio set and this pic has Mick Taylor in the band

Maybe the Ed Sullivan Show? Was thinking David Frost Show, but I think Mick's hair was longer for that one.

Erik_Snow I'm pretty sure it's the rehearsal for Ed Sullivan show,
Mick's hair is quite the same.

Here's a pic with Ed himself. Taylor is wearing the same as the header

GotToRollMe One of these pics turned up a few weeks ago - I remember someone commenting on all the tin foil. (I think this might also be the pic where everyone was wondering if that was indeed Stu on bass.) I think it is a rehearsal for the Ed Sullivan Show.

Whatever it is, that is one kickass suit that Mick is wearing there.

gypsy Sorry. My bad. It is from the Ed Sullivan Show. It was late last night when I sent that to Voodoo. One of my dogs got very ill, and I had to page his vet last night and have him hospitalized...long night.

Here are a few more from the same day - November 19, 1969. All courtesy of Hulton Archive.

Take care, girlfriend.

It was probably a rehearsal for the camera-crew too, and they needed to know which angles and directions to shoot from.

Yep. Thats exactly it.

Knowing Bill, he was still probably otherwise 'engaged' in his hotel room...
