Gazza even "The Sun", the lone voice of insanity, doom and gloom over the last week or so, are now running the Jo Wood story

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2006220337,00.html#cid=OTC-RSS&attr=TheSun:News

Love the way theyve conveniently overlooked the fact that less than a week ago they were publishing diagrams of what Keith's brain would look like and insinuating that he would be little more than a vegetable and unable to play again

They should just shortbread cancel all the German shows on fucking principle (see, e.g., Munchen auf Putsch hund mund, circa 1930s), then get back to touring the globe fortress style, with an extended U.S. leg, where they are loved more than anywhere. See, e.g., The C10. See, e.g., Madison Square Garden. See, e.g., Moof Piss. See, e.g., the killer goriller Roseland ballroom. See, e.g., help me, help help me, Ronnie.

My dearest Stonesian Brothers & Sisters ............

If they need to cancel the European Leg in order to give Keef some much need rest in order to prepare for this fall's U.S. thirty - six date " Mini - Tour " then we will all have to accept it as fate .

That being said , I am quite sure the band would reschedule all of those European gigs for next summer ( ... after the Stones Mini ( Lil' Mini ) Arena Tour of the medium / mid-sized United States Markets in Winter / Spring 2007 ) . Word .

glencar I hope this isn't at all something we ahve to worry about. The rest must be furious with Keith at this point. I look forward to seeing them at MSG this fall but if it's to be in Europe instead, I'll be there.
16th May 2006 08:00 PM
glencar Joey, as the Stones feel the need to stop "phoning it in" there will never be another Qwest Center show. Thanks for playing though!

Gazza Horsens update from www.stonesihorsens.dk
(thanks to JumpinKentFlash for the translation):

Keith is flying to the U.S. today (17/5) to get examined by his own doctors. After these examinations it will get decided how much recreational time Keith needs to be back on stage. The Danish promoter expects more news Monday the 22nd of May at the earliest!

Pierre 22 may ! Hope we have news for Paris before !!!

Joey " 22 may ! Hope we have news for Paris before !!! "

If I were a ' betting man ' I would venture a guess that the European Leg of the Tour will soon be History .................but that is just the Joey .

I realize that this is a very tough thing to swallow ................. but one must prepare for just such an announcement right now .

I dont think theres any significant risk to these shows. My guess is that all shows from July onwards are safe enough and that the tour should start sometime in June

If I were you, before booking anything, I would wait until next week for confirmation, to be on the safe side, but the only way these shows will not take place is if the entire tour gets cancelled - which seems highly unlikely.

JumpingKentFlash SIDSTE NYT......

Musikforeningen Eigils

og Horsens Ny Teater

---------------
First of all it is from the Stones' management who contacted HNT (Horsens Ny Teater - Horsens New Theater), or Eigils (The concert promoter). It says that Keith is flying to the U.S. today to get examined by his own doctors. After these examinations it will get decided how much recreational time Keith needs to be back on stage. The Danish promoter expects more news Monday the 22nd of May AT THE EARLIEST!

Lastly they encourage people to sign up for the mailing list on www.stonesihorsens.dk for info on the concert (Which might be smart thing to do, if you understand Danish and wanna know about the concert. What happens to the Horsens gig will most likely happen to the gigs BEFORE Horsens too I reckon).

Oh and it also says that the concert in Horsens is NOT cancelled as of this date.

FotiniD I think the news surfaced yesterday, so probably "today" refers to May 17 (?)

However, IORR insists Keith's still down under:

Keith Richards got the Get well greetings from IORR fans hand delivered earlier this week, and he really enjoyed them and was grateful. Keith is still in Auckland, even if the organizers of the show in Horsens, Denmark are saying he is flying to USA.

I guess by Monday we should probably have more information...

me

why?

Its best that tour news is kept on as few threads as possible to avoid endless re-posts of the same press stories and rumours

Plus, as the news stories have been more optimistic in recent days regarding the tour, it was worth re-titling.

please note jb and I strongly recommended NO TRAVEL ABROAD for US/Canada/Mexico/South America/Cuban fans to Europe. We seen the strong possibility of many problems (ticket sales, dreadful setlists, cancelled shows, etc). Having our beloved Keef injure himself just brings all of these concerns to the forefront.

Please do not travel to see the band...wait til the fall.

To a degree, I can understand that. Theyre not in the business of speculating and dealing in rumours. Nor should they be as an official website

However, its common knowledge that the first four shows at least in Europe are postponed. The only thing on rs.com about it is an old news story about the tour starting "in June", which by definition only means that at the moment the two shows scheduled for May are the only ones that are definitely off (Barcelona and Marid). When you go into the tour dates on rs.com, it doesnt state that the shows are off, however if you go to buy tickets youre directed to ServiCaixa's page which explains in Spanish that the shows are postponed.

As for the Brussels (1 June) and Paris (3 June) shows - FNAC (which is the main seller of tickets in Paris) have confirmed the show there is off. Rs.com - who have more power to keep fans updated than a record store do - obviously dont consider that a newsworthy enough story to make it available to the 80,000 people who have bought tickets for this concert. It also follows that if Paris is off, Brussels is too. Everyone seems to know about that but rs.com - the Stones themselves have even cancelled their hotel reservation!

I've always maintained (from past experience since the BTB tour) that the Stones official site exists primarily to sell overpriced merchandise and that news and tour info comes a poor second - and also that once a tour leaves the US the level of news and tour updates goes to shit (the lack of such info on the BTB tour was one of the reasons why we started this site).

Nothing has changed, except for the fact that in 1998 at least you werent paying anything to get next to no information.

voodoopug Young Jacob is only releasing what he legally has to. He must not create pandemonium amongst the people who spent money already. This should be no surprise, RS.com has traditionally been the absolute last source to break news (typically weeks after Josh and I break info!)

Gazza what, pray tell, have you two 'broken' lately other than a lot of wind?

once we were attacked viciously for predicting the tour postponement and the RCMH, we have decided to only break news via PM to a few trusted individuals...obviously there is no news right now!

We have both broken a lot of wind (jb actually had a few "accidents") lately. I blame this crappy diet food that Mrs Pug is forcing me to eat.
