Hi all:
Been lurking for a long time. Here's my first post. Hello to all! Nice to know there are obsessive stones freaks out there myself in cyberspace. When I tell friends/coworkers that I've already shelled out for three Stones concerts this year, they're all shocked and confused. No one understands.
Anyway, just curious if anyone knows why Oakland hasn't appeared as available on ticketmaster's web site yet. The show was announced at least a week ago. Not desperate to attend that one (I already have MSG, Giants, and Pac Bell) - just curious.
Ahh, so much to look forward to...
See ya

Heh Heh, I can answer my own question. Just discovered that these tickets were through a different site, www.tickets.com. Interesting.
Is it just me, or are the Oakland prices even more ridiculous than at the other arenas? The max is still $300, which of course is less than the $350 at MSG, for example, but there seem to me more non-floor seats that they're charging at $300. There's no way in hell I'd pay $300 for a seat unless it was on the floor.
There is lots of discussion on various chat lists, not just this one, with people expressing shock that certain shows haven't sold out. I think it's really simple: the prices! I mean, it's always a calculated risk for the stones management and promotion. This time they might have calculated just a little too high. I'm thinking that if most stadium tickets were $70 instead of $100, and if most arena tickets were $100-$200 instead of $160-$350, then every darn venue would be sold out. And they'd probably pull in just as much revenue and profit. Oh well - we'll never know...
In the meantime, I'm psyched for Friday night at Pac Bell! |
