What they did to our Baby Steelie is shameful , unconscionable , objectionable , purple , clairvoyant and must never be forgotten .

and you also have yourself to thank Monkeytonk - your "angle of entry" into this little patch of cyberspace was at a pitch that has engendered the friendly response
some "newbies" come crashing in like they own the place and do nothing but alienate everybody |

You got no one to blame but yourself, Bloozie. Look dude, when you walked out of that e-bathroom with a stack of Eagles pornography in your hand, you forever lost all credibility here. Its the way you will be remembered always - whether you were roping one off to Hotel California or Desperado is totally fucking irrelevant at this point. The damage has been done. The blood has been shed. The piss has found its spiralling drain of hair, soap and scum hereinafter and forever more....... |

Say what you want moondog, but at least Henley ain't gotta work for a living.
On the other hand, laaaaate the other night I seen that dude from that The Who doing infomercials, hawkin' time - warner cd collections right and left.
I felt sorry for him dawg....seriously....I thought about picking up that phone and throwin that doggie a bone.....the horror...the horror..... |

Moonie I just wanted to say this was one of the funniest things I read here in weeks.
On a more serious note, I can never understand why people have so much hatred and venom towards this group. Maybe it's just me, but it appears that this trend has been growing and becoming more accepted in recent years.
I've never really understood this phenomena, almost like it's chic to say u HATE them. People can't just say they don't care for them or it's not their cup of tea - they have to HATE them. I dunno if its their success or the fact that "Hotel California" is overplayed to death on most classic rock radio stations nationwide or what it is that turns people off.
Personally I rarely even hear them unless I'm listening to a classic rock station, but I have to say I find their brand of laidback, harmonizing, blue-eyed - country-rock - soul quite refreshing once in a while.
Now off the serious note, seeings how I'm such a good chum to you moondog, I'm gonna help you out here so's that in the future there'll be no mistakes, no confusion and no second guessing, also since i'm such a nice guy I'm gonna save you the hassle of having to ween out my stance on each of the following artists 1 by 1, which could be tedious and take forever, so go ahead and put my name on each of your lists concerning each of following artists, I'm gonna lay down the law here, don't say I never gave you nuttin'
LIKES
Little Stevens Underground Garage (not a big fan of modern rock music, but this is a very entertaining and informative show, definitely one of the best radio programs to appear in recent years. Love it when he plays 1 Stones related song a week, it's always a treat to which song he's going to pull out of the archives)
Steely Dan (I dig the Dan)
Eagles (see up, up above soar higher)
Led Zepplin (same as eagles, never listen to them except when they're on the radio)
Fleetwood Mac (equal fan of both the blues & pop era's )
Steve Miller (fan of late 60-70's era, hell I even like Abracdabra, i like steve)
Beach Boys
JLo's phat ass
Jimmy Buffett (like his 70's stuff)
The Doors (Morrison was a unique & gifted performer & songwriter, plus I fuckin love "Roadhouse Blues")
Kinks (not that there's anything Kontroversial about this)
Rod Stewart (not that there's anything all that contoversial about this either, but what the hell)
Country music in general
Blues music in general
Micheal Jackson (everything between Jackson 5 & Thriller. The gloved one had alot of soul and could really groove like no one else during his tener as King of Pop)
The Cars
Frank Zappa (I don't know a whole lot about Zappa, but from what I actually have heard he was definitely a very talented artist and I find him interesting, plus I liked his goofy humor. Also I liked his stance against Tipper Gore and the PMRC in the 80's)
60's girl groups (particularly the Phil Specter "Wall of sound" groups - Supremes - Ronnettes - Crystals - all that chit)
CCR (one of the greatest bands of their era and saddly one of the most often overlooked and underrated IMO)
DISLIKES
Modern rock in general
Grunge Rock (the sole reason I smartened-up & realized I shouldn't waste my time or $$$ on modern rock with it's continuing ebb and flow of bullshit trends and 1-hit wonders. Fuck it all. I got back to what I like best - solid, good quality music that never goes out of style. However, I did like Nirvana )
Punk revival (I like old skool stuff like ramones - sex pistols - black flag - but NOT the Clash. Oh and all that made to order punk revival crap like Green Day sucked big, fat, green spiked haired, ring through nosed, donkey dicks)
The Clash (Could never figure out what was so damn "punk" about these clowns. Punk was not about sounding pretty or playing cutesy songs. That's what faggy new wave was for. Black Flag - NOW THAT IS FUCKING PUNK ROCK - HENRY ROLLINS barefoot, covered in sweat, pouring beer on his head while screamin "gimmie gimmie gimmie...i need some more...." with G. Ginns wall of sound guitar in the background, now your talking. Rock the Casba b a b y indeed, gayness ahead. I'd probably like them better if they weren't such pussy punk posers and just admitted they were some trendy pop band or (at the least) a new wave group. Oh yea they were political - OHHHHHH! - big fucking deal!
Beatles (I admit it, I've grown annoyed with them, I respect who they are & what they did, but their music is just to damn "pop" for my blood)
John Lennon (ok I don't dislike John as an "artist", but as an "activist" I sometimes wish these guys would make like the Zappa album and shut (the fuck) up and play yer guitars)
The Who (see below)
Aerosmith (these two groups I've tried to like. I like a few songs, but not enough for me to consider myself a "fan". Aerosmith just plain disgusts me sometimes, besides they Honk Bobo's - nuff said)
Tom Waits (I don't give a shit who he's friends with, I could never get into him, maybe he's just a bit too avant-garde, but I'm still curious and occasionally still try)
Neil Young (this varies day-to-day \ week-to-week, for the most part I have "Decade" and play it once a year and usually like him for a few hours, but he's the godfather of grunge rock so go figure, like the song says "..a southern man don't need you around anyhow...")
U2 (used to be a fan, but nowdays not a big fan, not at all)
Grateful Dead (don't even get me started, I have just never "got it" whatever "it" is, and even Keef admits this problem with this band & I know this cuz I read him say this)
Pink Floyd (plz - ZZZzzzzzzzz)
Madonna & Courtney Love (they're on the shitlist, and they ain't coming off - EVER!)
Elvis Costello & Warron Zevon (never cared for either of these guys, each has a song or two that I like but overall I'm not intersted in what they're selling)
So there you have it moonifer. I've come clean & while your sitting there digesting all this let me just say that I in NO WAY sit around listening to ANY or ALL of the above artists on a day-to-day basis, but over my years of being a music lover I've come to realize where I sit on the fence in regards to most of these "hot topic" artists/groups listed above. So what's ya gots to say 'bout dat?
Little Steven's show just came on, so I'm gonna chill it for nows..
