Topic: Ronnie off the wagon? Return to archive Page: 1 2
May 18th, 2005 03:10 PM
Steel Wheels The Sun reports that he's back to the bottle. Any truth to this load of crap?
May 18th, 2005 03:14 PM
Saint Sway Niiiiiiiiiiice!
May 18th, 2005 03:26 PM
Maxlugar If true, Ronnie should be stuffed in a bottle and the cork jammed in.

The Stones should have Micky T. on speed dial!

So help me if he ruins the great feeling I have since the press conference!

So help me God!

In the deepest recesses of my fantasies, I see Mick Taylor emerging, wrapped in white linen, from a clam shell on stage right. Angels flutter down from heaven, nervously, holding his sunburst-orange Gibson Les Paul and place it gently in his golden and shining hands. They then quickly back away with impish grins upon their cherubic faces.

The universe is put back in order.

A young again Maxlugar nods as a single pearl of a tear glides down his supple cheek.

FADE TO HUMBUCKER...

Saint Sway for your fantasy to come true they are gonna need a whole lot of linen and one giant ass clam shell because your boy Taylor is fucking HUGE these days

I'm talking John Popper super size
May 18th, 2005 03:32 PM
Honky Tonk Man I hate to say it, but Mick Taylor is one fat bastard these days. Not at all good for the Stones image.

I hope to god that this Ronnie story is noncscence. However, he is aparerently prone to falling off the wagon every now and again.

Has it not occured to anyone that this might be just one last piss up before the tour kicks off?
May 18th, 2005 03:33 PM
ListenToTheLion Come down to earth. Taylor nowadays is a shade of the great guitar player he used to be.
False nostalgia.

I shall continue to have benign fasciluations, flank pain, and chronic IBS

Sadly, I am tired of hearing the requests for the stones to come out, and replay note for note with the same personell, the Brussells show
May 18th, 2005 03:41 PM
NHStonesfan Can anyone else comment on whether or not
Mick Taylor has lost his fastball?
May 18th, 2005 03:42 PM
Maxlugar You know that sound when Mick Taylor bends over to tie his sneakers?

You know, the massive passing of the gas and Big Mac’s being smooshed between the rolls of fat on his sides?

Oh and the groaning and ripping of his pants, and the accidental colon squirt?

You know that sound?

That still sounds better than Ronnie trying to play the lead on Tumblin’ Dice.

What kind of retards am I dealing with here, people???

Really now!

nankerphelge This was reported a few weeks back, and that he had checked in to rehab again.

Wonder if Ronnie has one of those punch cards, like Dunkin Donuts has -- you know, maybe get a free dialysis when you check into rehab 12 times!!

May 18th, 2005 04:00 PM
Nellcote Wishing for Mick Taylor is right up there with.....
Duane Allman to play guitar on "Loan Me A Dime"
Jimi Hendrix to play "Star Spangled Banner" @ Woodstock
Rory Gallagher to play Wicked Pissa slide on "Too Much Alcohol"
John Lennon to play an Unplugged session
Stevie Ray Vaughn to play a hot, sweaty Austin club
Ronnie Lane to sing "Your So Rude"

To name a few...

Summary, all things that aren't gonna happen, that you would love to happen.
Just like Taylor playing with the Stones.

Deal With It!

gimmekeef Do we have to go through this tabloid stuff again...Taylor has lost his fast ball. His last solo effort is very listless plus he's too big and nervous to play large Stones gig.If they need a relief player its gonna be Waddy..plain and simple....

Nellcote See, Joey, that was an Einstein like post.

Quality, to the point, of cogent thought, subliminal in it's brevity.

Keep 'em coming...

That sir is a gem, I like the part when he (he being you) said "punch cards." On a similar Subway will no longer honor their tickets, sorry Mick T., or wait, I mean Jared. Well they had simliarities at one point time, very easily confused.....
