Regarding "Jailhouse Rock" - can't say, personally can't even stand sitting thru some of the cover versions by better bands, like the Jeff Beck Band. Just the fact that Elvis sang them or created them for me makes it terrible...but the Faces have done worse - covering "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Jealous Guy"

Carry me back to 1957. What a movie! A masterpiece. The gorgeous (but surly) young Vince Everett given a stiff sentence by an unforgiving judge (moonie can relate) is sent to the big house. There he shares a cell with old Hunk Houghton who asks only cigs in exchange for favors. Good story line, acting and wonderful music. Elvis was a JOY to watch - especially his somewhat spastic rendition of the title song. Anyone who hasn't seen this movie really should. Especially before they spout off.
Gazza - I think one poster is relying on dear old (may he rot in Hell) Albert Goldman for his Elvis knowledge. A couple of the others haven't yet been able to grow their sideburns - hence their doubting of The King.
