Aussie film in demand
May 17, 2004
DISTRIBUTORS of Australian film Thunderstruck have had to put on extra screenings to cope with overseas interest at the Cannes Film Festival.
So if that is anything to go by, the film has good chances of being picked up by overseas buyers.
"My job here is to try and encourage attention and a profile for the film that leads to sales all around the world because most films do not recoup out of their home territory alone; they have to sell everywhere else as well," Thunderstruck executive producer Al Clark said.
Also, if Clark's cinematography is anything to go by, Thunderstruck will be a success overseas as he was behind the international success of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Thunderstruck is a film about five mates who make a pact at the Sydney concert of AC/DC's Australian tour in 1991.
