Willie Nelson Cancels Concerts

ERIE, Pa. - Willie Nelson has canceled concerts for the next two months to have surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, a promoter said.

The 71-year-old country-western star, whose hits include "Whiskey River" and "On the Road Again," was apparently in so much pain he couldn't finish a show Saturday in Las Vegas.

"Willie Nelson will have surgery to relieve extreme pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome," Carlos Larraz, a promoter with National Artists Corp, said Monday.

Nelson had ten concerts scheduled for the remainder of May and June, including an appearance at the three-day Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn., beginning June 11.

Ten Thousand Motels That's too bad. But a few lost shows ain't nothing. Willie's a fighter, he'll be back real quick.

I just hope his co-headlining tour with Dylan is still on schedule!

F505 You're sure it is not extreme pain caused by the Kid Rock syndrome?

Larry Dallas I hope Willie turns out okay. He had problems with his hands two years ago and he thought they were over. It's sad to see him have to cancel shows. I hope this surgery doesn't threaten his future on the road. I just bought his new release "Live at Billy Bob's" and it is too cool. His guitar playing is still like no other's. Drive on Willie!
